Warmode is not the same as PVP servers.
Even on lopsided servers back in the day, there was a kind of cat and mouse respect for the cycle of conflicts and your opponents.
With warmode, you are at the mercy of Blizzard’s absolutely horrible phasing. I have hollered for help from a guildmate who is also in warmode and in fact on the way to the same place as I am and not been able to get help from them because we weren’t in a party, merely doing WQ’s in the same zone. How does that make the world feel alive?
I can’t go get my main and wipe the floor with someone ganking people at the flight point because the chances of me actually being in the same phase are almost nil.
Even though the Horde in theory outnumbers the Alliance several times over, why am I always in a phase where there are nothing but roving gank squads of the supposedly rare Alliance? Why do they get presents for being in warmode?
Heck, I can be skulking around in cat, have zero hostiles on my catdar and suddenly have 20 Alliance randomly appear around me. How does that make sense or make the world feel alive?
I played on both sides of the coin on evenish PVP servers as well as completely one sided PVP servers for years and it felt better than this mess. I miss the days of /purr being the normal response to passing another flagged druid as long as it was just druids doing druid things. I miss friendly and lasting rivalries.
