Dinars were a great way to counter bad RNG. It would be great if they brought it back for next raid tier.
But, I would also suggest some changes so gearing would not be “too easy”.
They cannot be used to get loot of a boss that you have not killed yet.
You can get one dinar for each non-LFR raid difficulty (normal dinar, heroic dinar, mythic dinar). The item level of the loot will be determined by the dinar you used. 3. “Very rare” items are not purchasable with dinar.
*Edit: After some thought, I feel #3 is not needed.
I agree with the Dinar, but I think it should be like the Draconic Mastery token in that we only get one. Feel free to correct me, but I think the Dinar was in place due to the fact that we had a loot pool of like 30+ bosses in SL S4. With 3 Dinars it was basically 1 per raid.
why though? the very rare items drop in norm/heroic as well.
I kind of hate the “very rare” thing they’re doing. it’s not fun, it’s just disappointing week after week to see the item not drop. I think the concept is bad and shouldn’t be a thing.
Yeah, You get an achievement for going 9/9 N: get your 1 N dinar.
9/9H: your H dinar, and the normal one if you don’t already have it.
9/9M: M dinar, H/N if you don’t already have them, unlocks very rare items.
This idea would make it so you can’t get more than 1 per difficulty, and that you can’t buy items from a boss you haven’t killed yet, by tying it to earning the full clear achievement for N/H/M.
Even that would be fine as long as it slower Then the people who do kill. And it would be because they would just end up with more coins and gear faster
It’s kind of sort of how the dinar system work before and it didn’t throw everything out of balance
But, the reason I wrote that is because if everyone can easily get “very rare” items via dinars, then there is no point of making those items “very rare”.
Since dinar and “very rare” loot contradict each other, I am not sure what the best answer is.
My guild has been killing heroic Echo since week 1. We had zero Ashkandur drop, not even a normal version. Also, we had very few Chromatic Essence drop. Meanwhile, we had one or more drops of all the “very rare” items.
But, I can understand the frustration the other way around for guilds who didn’t see any “very rare” drops.
The more I think about it, the more I agree they should just get rid of “very rare” items.
