It’s legitimately the only ability I really need back as a feral druid. It gives a bleed buff (35%) which would make bleeds useful again. And it will make more skilled ferals be able to deal more damage with shred only being usable from behind and dealing way more damage!
And maybe this would allow some shuffling to make Brutal Slash no longer the ONLY option for single target
Adding another button would imply we’ll need to maintain another buff? No thanks. We’re already maintaining 5 or more buffs/debuffs. Adding an alternative to mangle may be a better solution. Something like using shread to apply the mangle debuff.
The main reason bleeds arn’t as good as they used to be is because we no longer have the talents that makes them tick 20% faster.
I cant take this post seriously at all.
The author obviously has never suffered on bosses such as Ultraxion or Kologarn, where using shred was impossible. They never got stuck in the farthest corner of the room in fights like ragnaros or alakir.
I honestly can’t believe I’m reading this. Someone is actually asking for the positional requirement to be put BACK on shred, and they obnoxiously think skill has absolutely anything to do with this.
Mangle debuff was baked into our skills.
This post it stupid.
Positioning is skill, and mangle would deal the same amount of damage as shred does now so it doesnt matter if you cant use shred or not, using shred is just bonus damage as i see it. Imo the positional requirement is good.
So you want two abilities, Each dealing equal damage. But one can only be used from behind? Sounds like you just eliminated the need for shred.
Like I said, This post is stupid.
What if shred does more damage to add incentive to use it? Or hey, how about WoW takes a note from FFXIV positional requirements?
Shred does bonus damage when done behind a target and buffs bleed damage. Bake it all into one ability that still requires gameplay to use effectively. I would take that if we dont get mangle back. Just a thought. Of course the argument could be made that that is too much baked into one ability but I think it would be fun to have that bit of gameplay in there.
There’s no “skill” in having to park yourself behind a boss. It’s the status quo.
“How to kill a dragon 101”
Then make more positional requirements then just that. Idk just brain storming man, implement some positional requirements or bring back mangle or something. We all know that abilities are being unpruned going into Shadowlands so I’m inclined more to mangle since it can add some more zest to feral which I currently have a blast playing, so adding more to its tool kit sounds pretty good to me.
Shred was never a bonus, feral was balanced around shred, not using shred was a loss.
If WoW took a note from FFXIV positional requirements(dragoon for example) then using Shred incorrectly would result in you gaining no combo points or not being able to do a finisher, do you really want that when all you do on that druid is LFR?
Just brainstorming man, obviously a copy-paste from XIV isnt the answer seeing as combat is slower and more methodical in XIV allowing that kind of stuff, but who knows, maybe all this will be moot and we will get mangle back regardless.
And i never said I wanted positional requirements to be THAT punishing, more as a boost to gameplay and allowing some big brain stuff.
Noooo, omg i meant mangle does the same damage as shred does now. If you arent stupid enough to get that i means shred will do more damage like 50% more than it does now and mangle will do the same as shred does NOW.
Standing behind a dragon is not in Dragon 101. In fact, you never want to stand behind the dragon.
Tail Swipe is bad.
Stand off to the side a bit.
Don’t stand in front, don’t stand in back.
Just stop dude.
Feral has evolved over the years and all of its old talents and skills have been baked into our current build. This, along with the removal of the positional requirement on shred has made mangle obsolete.
Now you want to drag us backwards into the burning crusade era?
Hard pass!
