Hello everyone,
Despite the recent and very nice buffs damages for enhancement shaman in PVP, we still suffer from our lack of mobility to stick our opponents.
In a current meta where casters and melees have multiple dashes, the shaman still struggles the worst.
Everybody knows about that but it’s like Blizzard doesn’t care and prefer focus on our damages.
For sure, Tempest giving 20% move speed in PTR doesn’t solve the problem (plus, it doesn’t work for Totemic spec).
Here are some ideas :
-
Give 2 stacks of Feral Lunge.
-
When Feral spirit is active, the CD of Feral Lunge reduces 100 % faster.
-
Thunderous Paws : Remove and immune snares and roots for 3 secs (30 secs. CD instead of 20 sec.) + doesn’t trigger automatically after using Feral Lunge.
-
Winds of Al’Akir : rework the talent and give 5% move speed per one active totem.
-
Wind rush totem : Remove and immune snares and roots → it seems fair for 2 min. CD.
-
Spirit Walk : Remove and immune snares and roots for all the duration → same here, just like Blessing of Freedom with 1 min. CD.
If Blizzard doesn’t want to increase our mobility, why not give us the ability to attack our enemies from mid-range (15-20 yards) like during Legion xpec with Frostband Weapon for example (of course not permanently but with talent/spell which gives this possibility for X secs.)

Give us a CC immunity window.

That is not entirely true. Here is a reminder: we got feral lunge as the baseline in tww. Now we also have a freedom with wolf form every 30 sec + totem freedom.
However, there is a general issue with mele classes in BGs rn - continuous snares everywhere. Every class has multiple abilities for slowing enemies. If you got pulled into a “piss” lake of a DK in the middle of the map, it is so hard to escape and most likely, you’ll die fighting in this goo.
If you read forums across different classes - every mele is complaining about it, war is probably being the most salty about it.
Sorry if this sounds dumb or uninformed but doesn’t the damage reduction Ghost Wolf gives help with that damage though?
I don’t PvP like I used to so maybe I’m reading the situation wrong.
We have snare removal once per 20 seconds with thunderous paws, and intermittent snare removal every 2 minutes with wind rush + jet stream. Neither of these provide a freedom effect or do anything vs roots.

Make us break roots and snares from shape shifting like Druid’s…. I know, simple change but win win

Spirit Walk, the alternative option to Gust of Wind, removes roots. It’s once a minute, and reliable

It breaks one root unlike hand of freedom from paladins. Breaks roots and you’re immune for a few secs after.
1 min for 1 riot is vomit. Frost mage throws frozen orb and roots you 8888283838383X in 6 sec
It’s a ramp up time where you do nothing and can’t take thunderous paws. Very low value talent in pvp

I hear ya, for sure. I wish Jet Stream operated like Poison Cleanse totem. Where it cleared a root/snare effect every time it refreshed.
I don’t even think it’d be terribly unbalanced, since it’s a deep (2 pt) investment into an active ability with a 2 min cooldown.
Only argument then is that there’d be an imbalance in the choice maybe when compared with Ascending Air.
In my opinion, there already is an imbalance as it is. And I’d say make Ascending Air provide a double jump glide for a short period of time. Yeah it’d be radical!
80’s freeze frame
You are asking for way more then Enhancement needs. Two Charges of Lunge? Fine, a cc immune for a few secs? Sure, I actually think every class needs that. Using the medallion should grant you a few seconds of cc immunity when used to break cc in pvp.
The rest of this stuff though? Too much. You forget that ranged needs to be able to kite as much as you need to be able to catch. It’s a skill game and learning to bait and punish is part of it.
Great ideas, I personally think Spirit Walk updated to be similar as Blessing of Freedom OR even Tiger’s Lust with 30sec CD will be enough. The damage buffs is good but I would rather trade that buff for the spirit walk update so we can hit the target more.

Umm, theyre in the best place theyve been in a long time. Maybe ever! Try being a fury warrior right now lol
I want enhancement to have it’s own mobility built around the spec. I don’t need to be a WW monk, DH or Warr. It’s not just slapping a warrior charge on us with a 30 sec cooldown, but improving how the class “flows”. Enhance feels clunky with how it moves(or doesn’t move) around.
Improve Thunderous Paws and Ghost Wolf form itself. Make the spec more fluid.
I think having windrush be a true freedom is a good one. Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure a previous iteration of the spell was. Being able to provide a freedom for you and teammates i think fits in well with the overall design philosophy if enh.
I would really love if they improved ghost wolf somehow. It’s one of my favorite spells from a fantasy standpoint but i just cant think of anything great. Maybe an interaction with feral spirits or feral lunge. Even just being able to do more in ghost wolf would be nice. There some spells that don’t break ghost wolf even without the talent in our class tree (i.e. waterwalk, astral shift, spirit walk, etc.) and i think some should be added to that list and maybe some to the talent. Feral spirits, tomemic recall (its really annoying when u run the talent but when u want to repeat a totem, recall takes u out of ghost wolf), our buffs (ES/LS, weapon imbuements, etc.), racials. And for the talent i think id be cool if like maybe shocks and healing surge were added. At the very least an updated model
I also think they should seperate spirit walk and gust of winds in the class tree like they did earthgrab and windrush. I think having a second movement option either a root break or an omnidirectional dash would help a lot to let shamans catch up with the mobility creep in the game.
I think the mobility creep is the crux of it all. In a different iteration of the game, the mobility would be fine. In current retail WoW, shaman mobility just isn’t efficient, you’re just plodding around.
Thanks everyone for your contribution.
I’ll up this topic as much as necessary. Y’all know mobility is atm our main issue in PVP combat.
We only need a few adjustments. It’s no big deal.
Please Blizzard, do something.
