Please ban super macro from classic

Read the title. This addon can make the game playable with one button to do multiple abilities.

Unnecessary as Classic will use the same client as retail and the same macro system.

I do agree with your reasons though. That isn’t the worst things that could do either.

Explicitly, the reason Blizzard said they are using the live macro API as a base is to prevent things like this from being possible.

They also plan to intentionally break any addons that would subvert the Classic experience, so even if someone managed to make it work in the retail API somehow, they would break it.

Well that is a huge relief. I haven’t played around with macros since vanilla/tbc so i’m not familiar with the current system (I didn’t even know they changed it). Thanks for the information.

The current macro system is largely the same as TBC. Addons have come a long way, though.

I heard something about weak auras that would be op for classic. I have no clue what it does. Its a newer addon relative to the vanilla ones obviously.

Oh boy. Weakauras (aside from extensive PTR testing) is probably the biggest advantage modern guilds have over guilds since WotLK.

It pretty much does anything. Informative graphics that come in all configurable shapes and sizes, sounds that tell you extremely specific things about buffs, positioning, you name it. It’s an absurdly powerful tool.

It’s really not a legit classic experience without the decursive addon dispelling your raid in a pre-determined order with 1 button.

They have loosely indicated they may limit what we can use in regard to addon support…

Warrior is wholly dependent on macro use to even be competitive in PVP. Simplifying a stance change into an ability into a stance change has been going on for years. All super macro does is put checks in place so the whole macro runs since Blizzs macro chain restarts on button mash.
