You literally just said the issue out loud and didn’t even see it.
It does infact allow you to stalk others’ accounts and does so very easily.
If you were to use the Armory, it would take you about 15+ to find the same info, but with the Armory it’s very clear that you can shut info off about yourself publicly.
To where people would have to hunt down achievements or find specific pet names.
Raider IO literally makes all of that knowledge accesible very quickly.
The only difference is Armory makes you put in effort to stalk, and Raider IO doesn’t. Plus its not moderated by Blizz.
No where did I say anything against the score system itself
BEHOLD THE WOW ARMORY, that which addons like Raider IO uses. Blizzards own tool.
And if you had your armory turned off, I wouldn’t be inviting you to my M+ group.
RaiderIO is not against ToS. Blizzard liked it so much they put it into the game with M+ score. Which by the way I would still be able to see even if you turned off your armory because it’s an in game feature now.
They can’t ban you for using an addon. Addons are LUA code. You can write any LUA code you like with the available APIs. There is no software that “detects” if an addon is a copy of something else. I can scramble the code with an online minifier in a matter of minutes, or change the names of the variables.
As long as the APIs are there, any addon would work. They can only go after the site that distributes it with their lawyers.
Which is the point. Can you really not follow the flow of conversation?
Translation, you’re the toxic problem.
I refusing to invite people who opt out of being stalked.
Even though opting out still gives you a M+ score from Keys in game. It just doesn’t share account data along with it.
You’re acting like I know so little on this topic, but it seems to be that you’re not that informed yourself.
You’re also obviously to the fact that actual Score Track part, which Blizz has in game now to a degree has NEVER been the contension point or this thread.
They technically could. Everytime you boot up WoW, it sends a list of your current addons to Blizz. So if they have one banned or flagged, they’d see you had it.
They’ve gotten other addons before like this
No, that’d still be you:
I never said I had an issue with the score, and even said in my OP they should make a system for the scoring even closer to IO for people.
I’ve only had an issue with the extra account data that is pulled and easily shared for stalking by IO.
But as I’ve already said, I’m good now that I know I can shut that off, and my M+ score would still be visible on a per toon basis to groups I apply to.
No I’m thinking of the player who worked for Yahoo!, and trolled and hacked a single mom so badly electricity was being turned off at her home, her phones were compromised, and the bad man even claimed he was the dad of her children and got them outside waiting for “Dad,” when she showed up at the School, so maybe check yourself about things you don’t have know about.
I know right!! I do probably 3-4 m+ dungeons every day to unwind after work and I NEVER see this behavior. The forums would have you believe there’s this rampant toxicity in m+, well I’m out there pugging keys from 4s to 10s and I legit never see this kind of drama. At worst, people might leave prematurely, but I’ve never seen anyone berating another player.
You don’t know them and shouldn’t care what they think.
They wanted to kick you because you were the healer and let them all die, bad pull or not. The best way to avoid PUG issues is to stop doing PUGs. Otherwise, you should expect trash players and even trashier attitudes.
Again, I understand the score is designed to be same, I meant making the UI even closer for people.
What M+ score doesn’t do, is quickly allow for account pulling and character stalking which Raider IO does…and is therefore the part I was asking for Blizz to crack down on.
And as I’ve also said, thanks to some posters, I can lock my account data down from being shared, so I don’t have to worry about it. And the game will still show my individual M+ score for what ever toon I’m on, if I want to do content where ppl would be looking for that score.
Again, it seems like you just don’t understand the part I’m against, because I’ve supported the scoring system remaining in this whole thread for people.
Most of the time I’ve experienced it, it’s been Heroic, Normal, or TW dungeons. Not Mythics. I know you’re just adding you’re own experience, but to be fair I’m not doing M+ really so I can’t speak on that community.
Pretty sure for the account pulling you need to actually make a IO account and link your Bnet.
For starters people looking at your M+ rating or to see if you have cleared the raid on X difficulty isn’t stalking.
Secondly if someone wanted to stalk you in game IO probably wouldn’t be the first tool of choice. Rather using the armory, checking what guild you are in and cross referencing your achievement points and when they were earned to find your other alts etc.
And if someone is genuinely stalking you make a ticket to Blizzard and provide documentation, block them in game and if they are dodging the ignores and following you in game report them. Do not use profanity at them.
