report and forget about it.
Or…make 100 pointless threads a week about it in here.
Whichever…

Annoying as it is, Blizzard has never outright banned bots when they’re discovered. They ban players on their time.

They often identify then monitor how the bots work and then ban in waves. This way they can use that information to identify them sooner and modify Warden to detect them. Just banning them immediately doesn’t help the larger problem.

banning bots is like an episode of Tom and Jerry, Blizzard bans the Bots, Bots get a different program to bot on, Bots get found out by Blizzard, Blizzard bans Bots, then the bots get a different program to bot on…

Banning bots yes but they will not ban multiboxers legit players. Seen so many of these dumb ban multiboxers/bots but i only agree on bots but multiboxers no, it will not happen unless caught cheatting.

They do them in banwaves which is a problem IMO. It allows them to wreck havoc on the AH for months before they finally ban them.

Your opinion is from how a typical player feels about bots. While understandable, it ignores the fact that banning each person thought to be botting doesn’t give them the opportunity to learn the program and allow their systems to detect immediately in the future. If you were to download a bot from a year ago the odds are you would be shut down before youre able to do anything of significance. It is because they learned how those bots work and how to ban them automatically.

my hosting company finally broke down and told me…if they want in, they’re getting in. all we can do is deal with it after the fact.
A list of high tech company hacks pretty much confirm that.

Yes just as we will still have Whiners who think anyone who is also farming the same nodes as them and doesn’t wish to talk to them is a bot.

PS
Game Masters aren’t in the game so you can use calling someone a bot as means to cut down your AH competition.

or…are botting themselves and complaining to get rid of the competition.

Anything publicly accessable is accessable by botting.

I worked at a place whose website required an email from a reputable provider, Captchas, custom anti-bot fields, and some other anti-bot software and scripts that I wasn’t privy too.

We still got the occasional botwave.

There was a guy down in Lima Peru who kept hacking into my sites few years ago. I know enough about all of this to be able to track him back to his service provider. These idiots dont always cloak their IP for some reason, lol.
The hosting company told me that he had hacked in in such a way that it actually looked like an inside job. It was only because they figured out how he got in that they werent looking to fire someone in the company.

I tracked the guy down thru some tools I had and got his email address.
Contacted him directly and told him that for his hours of hacking to get in, it literally took me less than 10 minutes to restore everything. I have backups of my backups of my backups, lol. I literally carry four backups of everything I have backed up in my wallet on micro SD cards. Aint no one but God himself going to destroy my work.
After I emailed him he never did hack the sites again.

These people need a life and a date, lol.

Are you implying the thousands upon thousands of posts calling out the rampant botting on the forums (with proof) are all wrong?

I agree, ban demon hunters.

You’re not a new player and you should know how Blizzard operates.

Banning bots one at a time gives the bot maker a heads up. Banning ten thousand bots at one time forces them back to square one. Then the cycle repeats itself.

Nope! I am implying that a majority of the whines and QQ about Bots on the forums are from folks who are peeved they were able to get their competitors banned by using the reporting system against them.
