It would be extremely helpful to give the playerbase another chance to arrange ourselves for what realm we want to play in. A lot of us play in hyper full realms because that’s just where we happened to be with our friends, but over time began to regret choosing those realms since these queues are proving to be a persistent inconvenience.
I just want to be able to just move with my friends elsewhere without losing our progress. I’m happy to free up my spot in Herod if I can get that option.

It would definitely help fix their situation better than any other options. Their supposed hotfix didn’t do anything as far as i’ve noticed, logging in mid day still has god awful queues. I’m not rerolling onto another server to try and back up to level to then progress but i’d probably server transfer in a heartbeat.

Server transfers aren’t as one note as you, or anyone complaining about queues on this forum, make them to be.
Adding server transfers for free potentially creates faction imbalance on some servers. It might just move the problems happening on servers like Whitemane and Herod to another server that doesn’t have this problem. You’re not solving anything by adding free server transfers. You’re just temporarily mitigating the problem, only for some other problem to take its place.
If they provide free server transfers for people on lower population servers so that way they can play with their friends who are located on congested servers, what’s to say that the same problems happening right now won’t crop up again? If you’re just going to flood a server in the future because you gave out free transfers, it’s better to wait for the queues to die down so that way the population balances itself out naturally.
If they do provide free server transfers, what happens to the players who opt in to stay on those low pop servers? They’re stuck with dead communities and empty cities.
Do you see the point now? This is not a simple option that everyone complaining about their queues make it out to be, you included.
So either suck it up, wait for queues to die, or just stay on your server with no queues. Blizzard has already given you to the option to get rid of queues. If you can’t deal with that choice you made, that’s on you. Sorry.
I’d rather not get a bunch of 60’s who spammed dungeons from high pop realms to come invade netherwind which avoided that problem after we were encouraged to abandon high pops and leave our old characters behind.
Why would they give free transfers when they can sell them to you?
Allow transfers from the original servers they had available AT launch?
I call BS on that. Theres no difference in telling people Hey reroll onto another server as opposed to Hey we’re allowing you to transfer onto another server. Blizzard could easily see the numbers and know that if they allow transfers from X to Y then it wouldn’t affect the server negatively. People aren’t going to reroll if they’ve already invested several days worth of playtime into a character on a congested server.

At this point, I’d be fine with that.
Blizzard’s current numbers for Classic servers are by no means an indication of anything. The game’s only been live for a week. Some servers could be dead, Whitemane might still be super congested come next week. We literally have no idea what’s going to happen because the hype for Classic still exists.
Providing server transfers could potentially not solve a single thing right now.

Temporarily having free xfers off high pop servers is a great idea stop being a pathetic tool.
I’ll go with a choice you left out, continue to give feedback to the service provider I am paying money to for said service. I value your input, though!
You should tell that the majority of the people on the forums who can’t provide the same feedback without throwing a tantrum.
How would server counts not? Its pretty simple math of these servers are exceeding their limits and these are not. If blizzard wants people to play on low-pop servers, give them a realistic means of doing so and not throwing away the first week of grinding just to avoid queues. Its pretty obvious blizzard has no clue how else to fix the issue so why not give transfers?
I dont blame them for throwing a tantrum, its ridiculous to say the least that the issues are this bad a week in to game they’ve done releases of for 15 years. People want to play the game that can’t are being told to make new characters on low pop servers. Thats not a fix to anything.
Which time were we supposed to take this advice? The first? That’s what I did now my realm is full. The 2nd? Those realms are full? I guess I should have rerolled 8 times. Yup!
