I agree there should be a penalty if people /afk or leave a game mid match. However, it’s extremely brutal and unfair for people to lose 200 rating to a disconnect. Yesterday, there were server disconnection issues, and dozens of people disconnected from games and lost rating. Theres also multiple bugs related to gripping/blinding/knocking at the same time that has a high chance to disconnect you.

This would be impossible to implement without leaving the door open for exploits. I hate to say it, but if you don’t have a stable connection, don’t queue rated PvP.

Fried take. Dcs should not insta kick u from the game. The game doesnt end instantly like shuffle. Also past somewhere around 1500-1600. thats literally 10 games worth of cr loss. A ok for leavers getting hit but dc shouldnt instantly kick u out.

I agree that in Blitz, you should be able to log back in and continue the game. What I meant was, if you dc and do not rejoin before the conclusion of the game, you should lose a large chunk of rating. If not, some people would start turning off their router to dc and not lose rating.

You would lose rating regardless when your team loses. Doesnt matter if u dc or not. It just needs to be a Larger range until it lobs you. That way if u dc at the end right before a loss you take a -24 or whatever it would be v a 200 for a game u were there full aware of. Dcing would never stop point loss.

If you’re unaware, OP is talking about this because servers went down completely yesterday, and anyone who was mid-game when they did lost 200 rating as if it were a normal DC.

I got a wifi adapter for my PC and am going to use mobile hotspot if my Internet drops. I believe the blitz gives you a couple minutes to log back in and rejoin the game. 200 cr loss is brutal especially at higher ratings.
What exploit does this leave open? You lose rating no matter what if your team loses. I’m talking about the extra 200 cr penalty that’s applied if you disconnect early. Even if you disconnect in the final minute of the game, this penalty is still applied. It’s completely unreasonable.
“Get a stable internet connection” Okay man, there’s literally bugs that disconnect people from games everyday. That’s a way bigger “exploit” than disconnecting via internet flicker or server issues, which are usually completely out of your control.

Crazy, more server disconnects today. Literally 3-4 people disconnecting at the exact same time and all losing 200+ rating because of Blizzard servers. This is a disgrace.

please fix this, just give some buffer time for ppl to reconnect because certain abilities like MC and rop have been known to cause dc’s and getting -200 is unbelievable. literally -400 last 2 days from this

I’ve been able to get back into a couple games from “normal” dcs, but last night (and apparently tonight too??) the server wouldn’t respond for over 20 minutes for me and most of my friends. This isn’t a stable connection issue on my end, this is a blizzard server issue. It would be nice to do something about dcs for people but a server crash absolutely should not be penalizing players, that is inexcusable. I’m really soured on the game mode (and game) now and I was really enjoying it. This needs to be addressed asap.

This is widespread atm. Multiple posts are talking about this. If you experienced the 9:15 PMish disconnect on 9/18/2024 and lost CR due to no show, plz open up a ticket. The more of us do that, the better chance we might have.

They can solve it by just making the DC person not be removed from the BG. It’s not like they’re replaced anyway. Just keep their DC char there until they get back (or not)

Yeah this needs to addressed asap. I recently lost 200 points on a twin peaks just a few days, tried closing out the game in the time i had before the gates opened to getting dc’d a second time logging back in but received a " no show ". Regained all the cr back and mmr to just about 30mins ago dc’ing again on an Eye of Storm as i just loaded in, losing yet another 200 cr.

Hell, I lost rating when the servers crashed. I didn’t DC, my connection was fine. But I lost rating regardless.

yea when area 52 went down. that was funny, everyone from there in game dc’d and its like 2500 mmr games. All that cr gone
