Once upon a time, back in the day… mined copper was just copper. Any search for “copper ore” would not work. Many many things were made out of copper. Copper this. Copper that. Copper Bar. It was a bummer and a giant PITA. After many years, copper became “copper ore” and then there was “copper bar” and there was cotton candy, rainbows and good happiness stuff. A perusal of Reagents → Metal and Stone shows that to be the case… except…
But, quite a startle arose when bismuth was introduced. Thus, history repeated itself as seems to be the case with so many things great and small. Perhaps this time it won’t take years to update the name(s)? It’s a very helpful convenience.
Thank you, and bring on the dogpile. A careful reading will reveal I know the “proper” way to look things up, but the name is nonetheless counterintuitive.
