It would be great to see either a patch or expansion launch that heavily focuses on the visual customization aspect of the game. I think a lot of players are hungry for that, I’ve seen a lot of people from casuals to rank 1 pvpers to 0.1% m+ers asking for glyphs for their spec/class recently.
There is so much untapped potential with glyphs, and they don’t even have to change “spec silhouette”, glyphs are the perfect way to add visual customization while still making the spec/class identifiable the second you see it.
Some examples of that:
-Glyphs to change the color of elemental shields to match the elemental colors IE red/greyish white/brown for lightning shield, red/greyish white/blue for earth shield, etc. The animations/visuals don’t have to change, just the colors would be nice. Earth shield would still be easily recognizable even if it was red as long as it keeps its visual.
-Glyphs to alter ghost wolf forms to elemental animal forms ie lightning wolf/wind wolf/lava wolf etc.
-Glyphs that allow disc priests to add more shadowy effects to their light spells since their identity is dipping into both aspects of priest (light/shadow) ie adding shadowy effects to rapture and flash heal, etc.
-Glyphs that allow monks to change jadefire stomp color to those of the celestials.
Glyphs have so much potential its insane. Could even make a collection system/tab for glyphs and put quests behind unlocking some of them. And with the examples above, class and spec silhouette still remains while we gain more customization.

Yes please. My Scribe just got back into working the AH… so guess where she was living… yep, Valshara (sp?) from the Legion expac.
That’s bonkers to me.
However, unless it was a random occurrence, I did notice that the ratio of roseate pigment from Dreamleaf dropped quite a bit in the last few weeks. To the point where I had to actually use Yserallen seeds to supplement, and may even need to use other zones. A change actually that will remove a lot of tedium, so I’m not against it.
But, if I am correct in my observation, someone at Blizzard is reviewing Inscription. So I hope this portents that some glyphs are in our future!!

We just got glyphs that aren’t water elementals or polymorphs, know there are some rogue glyphs coming. Hopefully they keep adding them.
I didn’t know that! Huzzah. Now how to learn them. <dusts off Dornagal table…
I’d like to see more spell cosmetics.
Let my fire spells on my fire Mage be red instead of orange or get the option to lob white fireballs at ppl.
Monk has a glyph where they can alter the color of their Crackling Jade Lightning, that should be extended to every caster in the game imo. Iirc Wrath for Balance Druid used to be green instead of orange, see no reason why they can’t have a glyph to turn it back.
You know what they should do:
add a glyph tab in the collections tab for people to keep track of glyphs.
And there should be a way to remove/re-apply glyphs your warband has already acquired.
Fully agree, thats what I meant when I said there could be a rework to the glyph system to make it a collectible type of system where you have a glyph tab and can go collect all of the old/new ones. Some can be from tailoring, some can be from new class hall quests maybe, etc.
They should update spell animations first, some are already being used by NPCs

Agreed. I like my glyphs on warrior. So much more could be added visually. Would be awesome to add some effects to my rampage and other spells that I use constantly. I think it would be super fun to chase awesome glyphs in harder content too, but I know that will cause a lot of rage on the forums, it’s something other than gear to chase.
They can do both though, doesn’t have to be one or the other. We’ve been waiting for new glyphs since legion basically. Some classes/specs have gotten 1 or 2 here and there, shaman getting 2 ascendance glyphs this patch was awesome, but I’d like to see a big influx of glyphs in one patch or on expansion launch for like Midnight, not just one or two sprinked in every few years.
In terms of spell animations, they update these over time but again I think it would be kind of nice to have that happen in the same patch or expac launch that glyphs could potentially come in. Would be extremely hype imo, I think this deserves a pretty big focus even if it means we don’t get a new system at launch for midnight. Think this would be more exciting to most players at this point.
So much they can do with glyphs its really unbelievable that they haven’t been utilized more and I really hope to see that change soon.
