Remember when they “nerfed” the water strider cause they got tired of seeing one everywhere.
Well, I’ve reached that point with yaks.
Already took them off the mini-map cause it filled it up whenever in a city, but it’s also less interesting to be in a city surrounded by yaks!
However, I seriously don’t blame the players. It’s the only one available (yes?) and they put a new one ON THE STORE. So please add more or better yet, a transmog ability you can add to any mount, just so we remove this non-stop yakness everywhere I go.
BTW, I am guilty myself of bringing out my yak too often.

I bring mine out more for repair and vendoring than i do mogging.

I am far too cheap to buy yak. Mostly I whip out the Ethereal Transmogrifier toy whenever I get an upgrade.

My yak only sees the light of day maybe 5 seconds at a time, when I get an upgrade and need to re-apply my premade mog or when I need to press the ‘Sell Junk’ button when I’m out and about. Maybe it will get a 5 minute time in the spotlight in an outdoor instance for repair. People who just sit on it in towns are weirdos.

Why use the Yak when you can just summon your own Ethereal Transmogrifier thanks to the Trading Post.

I use the ehteral myself personally.
I was SHOCKED when I saw it on the trading post.
What we really need is Coppers the Kobold to have its vending/repair capabilities restored. Coppers coupled with the transmog toy and you can eliminate the need for yaks everywhere.
Which is exactly why they won’t do it.

I still don’t get why they did coppers dirty like that.

Does anyone actually use the yak as a mount?

I don’t understand, either.
“It devalues…”
No it does not. People with yaks like their yaks and they’re going to keep using their yaks. It devalues nothing. It would be a quality of life improvement for a little bit of work and it’s honestly time for it.
If you want to talk devalue… does anyone even know that Ironforge still exists? Every time a new capital comes out the old cities get left further and further behind. Requiring profession tables for profession work and the tables are only found in the new cities… does that not devalue everything that came before it?
It’s just a non-combat pet that buys stuff. There was no reason to change it.

LOL - I don’t think they do use the yak as a mount.
In fairness, it doesn’y fly - and maybe that’s a good thing.
There’s the Grizzly Hills Packmaster on the store, I bought one because I didn’t have a repair or mog mount and wanted one for when useful. I don’t usually spend money on items for games like that, but having repair and remog available is great.
You know you can still buy the mammoth and the yak right?
Costs less than buying the bear, although I am honestly happy now when I see the bear instead of the yak.

Yeah, I liked the bear model tbh lol. Wrath was one of my best WoW experiences, too, so the Grizzly Hills name nostalgia worked on me rofl. I love the little lantern on the back haha
Occasionally, yes. It has a ton of character and detail. But there’s simply not much reason to use a ground mount these days.
Not gonna lie, very tempted to get it just cause I’m sick of my yak.
But then I think that’s Blizzard evil plot all along, and I stop.

Kinda for it. Not super strongly or anything but its more a why not.
All the time dude. That sucker has a special place on every character’s bar. We could definitely use more options at this point.

I remember early expansion in Cith of Threads it was the only ground mount on my bars. I felt so rediculous galopping through City of Threads on this giant yak! lol
Fine, I’ll buy the bear. But if you see me in game, feel free to pay me in gold or maybe compliments
