I’ve been thinking recently that WoW has so little customization options compared to other top MMO’s like FFXIV, BDO and even Lost Ark. There’s very limited character customization options and I’d like to include a few suggestions that I’d like Blizzard to add into the next expansion Dragonflight.
Add more color options to our hairs as well as more hair styles. We should have the option to make our hair color any that we want and there should be a lot more hair styles then currently available for all races.
Let us use pronouns in our characters creation menu. It’s strange that there’s only two genders listed, but even with only two genders, It wouldn’t be difficult to add a “non-binary” option. Give us the option to include other prefixes such as “they or them” when addressing our toons.
Give all genders the option to use any hair style, customization option or voice-line. I’ve played my share of RPG’s and most of them give you hours worth of customization, including changing your voice lines and even further, lets you use male voices on female toons and vice-versa.
Let us dye our armor. With any color or mix of colors if we so desire. Please look at Guild Wars 2 as the standard for letting players dye their armor. it’s fun to spend time making our toons look the way we want them to look.
It’s always difficult to make a 20 year old game engine do things that weren’t even an afterthought when it was made. Some things are hard coded, it would be easier to code a new game, trying would create a swarm of bugs.
I find it a tad bad form as a “new person” to come in and start demanding changes to a game you also have barely even played.
Shows you onpy want the thing turned into your views dispite having no real stake in this game.
Or youre just a shadow acxount by the troll of the forum trying to hide the alias to get more nibbles on bait threads because you other toons stopped getting attention.
Either way bad look.
Would be like me starting up in FF14 and immediantly demanding they make the characters less anime looking. Less fem boy look more masculine characters…
It makes you look like a jerk. Play the game and put time into it.
Rather then being the 3rd account of a troll ah right thats is all you are so its all smoke and mirriors.
It’s just to add more personal customization to your own toon. No one else would have to see it, but if the player choses to do so, they could enable to option for others to see how they’d like to be addressed.
If a player wishes to be addressed in-game as a specific “they or them” or “he/she”, they could let other players know that way respectful players can address the player properly. No obligation, but it seems harmless and other games are adopting similar customization options.
Because we don’t need to add a clan of persons who don’t consider themselves to be biologically male or female.
Unless they’re robots or completely umm…what’s the word in looking for?
Self-reproduce like some animals out there?
But adding a non-binary option is just silliness when you’re actively clicking on a gender during character creation.
I’m totally not trying to be mean at all. I just think it’s beyond unnecessary and there are a lot more features and abilities that should be prioritized over adding “Genderless” to the character creation screen.
Appreciate your response. I can see how you’d think something like pronouns isn’t a good use of developer time. That said, I don’t think adding in pronouns would be a difficult task and would ultimately be a step in the right direction. As for the biological or political reasons, there is none that I care to talk about. This is a game of fiction, let players use their imagination. I think more people would be interested and use these features than not.
