Just like we’re not getting cross faction raiding. Please, Blizzard isn’t even the same company. Who knows what Microsoft will do.
They will lose as many if not more players if they brought them back.

Blizz, stop taking content out of the game. Stop restricting content.
Also, allow some way to get ALL pvp armors. Like, let us buy past elite armors with vicious sadles.

For pre-made groups so friends can play together across faction. Queued content will still be single faction (From what I’ve read, unless a recent update came out stating otherwise). This is a Quality of Life upgrade for the game, giving more options for the Alliance and the Horde for organized raiding and pvp with friends. THAT is something that is good for the health of the game.
The Mage Tower is back so wish granted.

Its also a bit of a small quibble but its actually a bit more then 144 since some artifact weapons were main hand and off hand ie 2 items in one. I believe all shaman weapon, shadow priest, demo lock, prot warrior, and prot paladin all had their artifacts as different main hands and off hands.
And these were some of the better designed weapons of the expansion too, basically everything from the mage tower had some animation work done or had some other unique feature like, you know…the only flails in the game. They also remain the only weapons you can mog regardless of your current weapon type.
Also inb4 “entitled whiners just want weapons”. I have all 36, I think its for the good of the game that good rewards continue to exist in the game, especially since the mage tower is tightly tuned and one of the biggest complaints is “not worth it”.

I don’t think it’s good for the game to be told to get this exclusive weapon appearance before it’s gone then turn around and make it as common as an appearance you can buy the from AH. That would make me feel like Blizzard is nothing but empty promises. That would also give me zero motivation to do the MT because I’ll say to myself “meh, I’ll get to it when I get to it.” Just like I did this new MT.
And yes, yes in before “they’re already empty promises!” No, they’re not. They do manage to keep some of them.
Being able to pick and choose when you want to do content sounds like an actual RPG to me. I don’t see the problem.

I just explained the problem.
Blizzard said “Hey we have this MT thingy. We want you to participate. Your reward for participating is this exclusive weapon transmog. Thanks for playing!”
But if the appearance is cool and the content is fun why would I need any other motivation to go do it…

Why the ah? The black market auction house is traditionally where they stick forelorn items from things they remove, but the mage tower weapons are an ill fit, it would likely double the entire inventory of the bmah whlie also angering everyone who want to simply earn them.
There are a lot of ways to make it happen where they can technically not be backing down, which is often their mo anyway. They could do recolors just like they did for the bear, they could give access to that tree in the artifact weapon tab for completing the mage tower ie original mt weapon stays gone but you can mt+heroic kj and get that color and such. The important thing is that people want those appearances available, and honestly it is a massive number of appearances to be locked to one expansion.
I still don’t even see the issue of sticking it back in the new mage tower considering how they tuned it, and how the current tw mt has .0001 reward for trying it on anything but the easiest spec for each class. The only downside is the claim that blizzard went back on its word, but even then that is not a new accusation and I honestly can’t see any problem beyond people being angry about shifting stances when the game is already in a time of flux and in need of some change of course regardless.

I don’t see the big deal. Pvp has been locking people out of armor, weapons, mounts, enchants and tabards for years but nobody complains about that. What makes the MT so special? Nothing. I think people just need to think of the MT just like they do pvp stuff and they’ll suddenly get over it.

People do complain about PvP. Having a system like vicious saddles but for old gladiator sets would be great and should be added.

No actually they don’t. I’ve been on the forums since the beginning and nobody complains that gladiator stuff is permanently removed. For some reason they get put on an untouchable pedestal and everyone is fine with that stuff coming and going every season.
There is nothing wrong with pve’ers also having exclusive rewards, especially since they get way less than pvp’ers.

This made me do the math for the rest. There are 720 weapon appearances (or feral/guardian skins) available from Legion, including recolors, 180 unique appearances (excluding the mage tower skins). That’s …frickin’ insane.
I never understand when people trash Legion.

Sorry this line confused me since I don’t think that would happen even if they brought it back. As you said people would still have to do the mage tower which isn’t a small accomplishment atm so it’ll be more common, but not that common.
People don’t complain about it as much but its an argument I’ve seen made that I also think should come back in some form. Its absolutely bizarre how you can get mythic appearances after every expansion but the 1200 pvp appearances are somehow a sacred cow, especially since basically no one pvps across all 4 armor sets each tier. I don’t see what would be offensive about having a similar system to the saddles for mounts where if you get high enough in a season and keep playing you can eventually earn older sets with marks of conquest or w/e. Similarly I hope that tw challenge modes come in with rewards too. More is better in this case.
I’d think tabards, titles, and enchants should be the limit as far as limited content goes just to clarify my stance.
