Please add in-game marriage

Sorta - I notice I had you pegged right. I knew you were one of the two. Well, we rebelled against you for your materialistic foolishness, so you turned around and corrupted our kids, instead.

Now their garbage is being hit by gen z. Hey gramma, the reason people can’t buy starter homes any more, isn’t because they spend too much at starbucks - it’s because people like you, near death already, buy up all the starter homes to RENT to the kids.

Nevermind that in your era, the cost of living was much lower, interest rates reasonable, and the economy still being stimulated to get past the last of the great depression. You also got to go to college for a pittance, while now education is big business, and costs equivalently six or more times what you paid.

This is a result of your policies of greed and stupidity and selfishness. But you get to die soon, leaving everyone else to suffer your foolishness.

Well you’ve proven that you’re not as ‘progressive’ as you think you are… In fact you’ve proven you’re really not that progressed at all.

Peace Out… Have a wonderful evening.

Best go check those investments… Buying up starter homes the kids need is really a great move right now. Why let them buy it when your investments and generational wealth allow you to purchase up whole sections of it to list?

Seeya granny. Hopefully not for much longer.

Well this thread went south really fast.

Add divorce.

Isn’t this a thing in ESO? Or am I remembering a different game?

It’s a thing in all of them, just not sanctioned officially. Heck, I remember an old text-based MU* I used to play on back when that was a thing, and we had a gay ex-borg marrying a Trill. It was well attended, being the first such before gay marriage was even legal rl. 40 out of 200 players, at the time, was a big deal.

Alright, get ready for our brand new Marriage+ system.

There’s some adjacent systems you must be prepared for first though.

First, you’ll need to grind enough of the Proposal Power resource in order to level up your Legendary Ring. This works like XP, but is infinitely grindable and looted from dungeon bosses, world quests, etc.

Next, you’ll need to choose between 4 possible families which your spouse can be from. Each spouse has its own abilities, and each will be optimal for different game modes, but you can only choose one until the X.2 patch.

Then, you’re gonna need to farm up the proper wedding invitations. These drop from a variety of sources, with higher ilvl invitations coming from more difficult content. You’ll probably need to use a third party website to find out which invitations work best with your family and spouse.

You’ll then need to choose between 3 of your Bros to be your best (wo)man. The 3 options will be based on which family you chose earlier. They each come with different abilities usable during the wedding, but 2/3 of them will be pretty much useless, so again you will likely want to just look up which is best for you.

Now you’re going to have to craft your wedding dress and/or tuxedo. This will rely on other players to craft pieces for it, and we’re going to be releasing the patterns as drops from a world boss on a rotating schedule. It’s possible that you may not be able to obtain the only useful clothing item pattern for your class until about a month and a half after the expansion release, but that’s just extra time to watch your friends have fun at their weddings!

Finally, it’s time to get married. There will be 4 marriage difficulties, ranging from “Looking for Bride” to “The Father in Law Hates You”.
You’ll need 19 other friends to help you during the wedding. During the final patch, we will be adding a Divorce affix, making Weddings increasingly likely to fail based on difficulty setting.

Oh and did we mention your best in slot Marriage License that you’ll want to have to complete the Wedding is going to be a random drop from the weekly Town Hall cache, which will let you select from up to 9 types of permits, but almost none of them will be relevant for Marriage content.

We expect this to be the most popular system ever as it’s EXACTLY what players have been clamoring for!

No, but it’s a good start. This is just the stepping stone slash slippery slope, depending on your point of view, that we need to get to polyamorous marriages.

Fun trivia bit: whom lobbied hardest in support of getting gay marriage passed nation-wide? The divorce lawyer associations - since gays break up at a much higher rate than their straight counterparts, this statistically was expected to slightly more than double their business. Much to the relief of all, their lobby was successful, and now more fun is had by all.

I’m surprised there isn’t an addon that does something similar or can be used for something like that.

You can simply RP a marriage. There’s no need for it to be coded into the game. The means are already there: dresses, suits, rings (Noble’s Elementium Signet is a toy that flashes on your finger in game for like 2 hours with a reasonable cooldown you can always have it on), flowers, even areas in game with pews (if that’s your sort of thing).

There’s a few spots in Ardenweald which I think would be great for an outdoorsy wedding

Im a millennial who grew up in a town stuck 20yrs in the past. What does that make me?

I agree they should add in game marriage.

There shouldn’t be a limit in how sad the player base can get

No limits

But… but… it’s Tuesday!

You can get married in the game but what I am guessing you are referring to is some type of label on your character when someone inspects you? There are rings, suits and wedding dresses you can acquire. If you are alliance you can get married where Varian is buried. I think that is a great spot.

The same applies to posting on a Wow Classic account.

Nothing you say will be taken seriously, as we all know that you lack achieves to back up your claims.

This.

No whirlwind marriages please for the title of ‘we’re married’ for the glamour of it all!

There’d have to be rules for the union, divorce and reunion of such things!

Surely those other games have figured this out so Wow could do it perfectly?

ew no take your love life drama to some anime game or something
