I don’t like the idea of playing as a priest who uses Shadow Magic. I understand Shadow Priest does and I’m not asking for changes to Shadow spec, but as a Discipline and especially Holy I’d like some glyphs in shadowlands to alter Mind Blast and the Shadow Words and any other shadow spells to have Light sounding names and colors/animations and if possible Holy Damage instead of Shadow.
The first two desires are purely cosmetic, and I know changing the Damage type may cause troubles with balance so I understand if that can’t be done. In unpruning, Blizzard has put in the baseline damage rotation of all priests Shadow Magic. It doesn’t sit well in my stomach and I’d just like the option to opt out of that while still keeping the damage spells.

I’d say pick another spec. Or class in general. This is like me saying uhhhh could I please use fire for my rogue? I actually really don’t like the thought of using daggers and would find it much more appealing to throw fireballs. Like dawg no cmon now, find another class or spec you like then.
I don’t agree. Asking that the class which is literally called Priest should be able to purely use Holy in at least 1 of its specs is not an unreasonable request.

Bro what? He is asking for shadow priests to be able to use holy effects. There are already 2 out of the three specs that use holy effects. I think shadow has a lot more problems on its hands than the look of abilities.
I think it would be cooler if they added a fourth spec to either pally or priest that’s a ranged holy damage dps.
I did not make myself clear in my OP. I’m not asking for Shadow Spec to be changed. I’m asking for glyphs to be put into the other two specs (Discipline and Holy) so that shadow spells be changed to Light for them, namely the Shadow Words and Mind Blast. I’ll edit it to make this more clear.

Oop, I misread it in the same way Rsweet did. I agree. I know disc has a glyph to turn the shadow fiend into a light spawn. They could add some more of those.
Ok but only if we can get glyphs that change all of Disc into shadow spells too.
As I read somewhere a long time ago, the idea of Discipline was to sort of balance the Shadow and the Light. So in fairness, I can’t disagree with you. It is much easier to alter the couple of spells that are shadow to make them light for Discipline then to alter the dozens of light spells to shadow. So I would hope they would first implement the shadow to light. But as I said, your desire is fair too.
They should really be offering glyphs that cover all your spells sort of like green fire for warlocks. people have been asking for this for years.

Also there is a glyph that is supposed to turn Penance into a shadow spell and it looks awful, the spell is still white and sparkly it just has a little purple fog on the edges.
