Please add individual socket/conduit upgrades to Zereth Mortis like prior tiers had.
Don’t eliminate the only deterministic way to get sockets on gear.
Don’t force people to do raid/m+ to get conduit upgrades.
As is, I guess it’s back to Korthia to keep grinding my 252 conduit upgrades there?
Adamant Vaults is also no longer dropping the 252 conduit upgrade items.
So what is the best way to get 252 conduits in 9.2 without doing raids or M+? To have already grinded it out on 9.1, as you can only get 239 from ZM rep.
Pretty sure you can still buy them from Korthia for the “research” currency. It is like 3k for one conduit upgrade.
Yup. So I guess korthia for 252, then only raid/M+ or one of the elite achievements if you want to go past that.
And I guess maybe there will still be handful upgradeable via PvP…
The original korthia grind was kind of crazy, but the answer wasn’t to just eliminate the ability to grind for sockets/conduits. The answer was to make it more reasonable, like the korthia grind is now.
New zone just released and there’s already no point in being there…
The thing is, 95% of conduits scale so poorly that having 239 vs 278 is not a big deal.
If we read into this line from Ion in the recent dev interview, we’re either not getting one or it will be a mid season release:
"But what we found, to our initial dismay and horror to some extent, is that a much broader range of players than we expected saw this .4% power increase that was behind something they didn’t necessarily enjoy doing as absolutely mandatory. And that’s not the outcome we wanted.
Except you can still get conduit upgrades.
You just have to do M+ or raid.
So they just took the option away to do world quest stuff instead.
So they made it worse not better.
Because now all those people will feel they need to raid/m+ if they weren’t before.

If you want 278 conduits, get 3k IO. If you want a socketed helmet, get one to drop.
No. Gear you can get from PvP.
You can still get conduit upgrades. You just have to grind dungeons instead of world content. How is having less options for how you choose to grind conduit upgrades an improvement?

You can still grind. It’s just dungeon grinding instead of world quest grinding.
I think your likely to see your conduit drop from dungeons in 3 or fewer keys.

I think you’re massively oversetimating how big conduit upgrades are. For one of my toons, getting all my DPS conduits from 252 to 278 is less of a DPS increase than just getting a new 278 mythic belt over my current 252.

This has nothing to do with how weak or strong conduits are.
The question is, why remove the ability to upgrade conduits from world quests and force people to do dungeons or raids if they want the upgrades?
Shock and horror: I’m going to potentially have to do 12 keys to get all my potency conduits for 2 specs!
Yea that difference in conduits isn’t a big deal. They don’t scale very well
I personally don’t see the point of upgrading conduits. That miniscule amount of DPS isn’t going to make or break my world content.
