Wait, I’ve got a solution. One time purchase mage portals from an NPC mage in the tree town little area. Make it cost like 500g per trip (cheaper than a transmog…).
It is odd that it has no portal back to Valdrakken.
So my hearth is set to Valdrakken

there was no portal in zaralek caverns back to valdrakken.
no portal in emerald dream seems completely normal to me.
I found that odd as well. At least have a point for the teleportation network down there!
That said I’ve just kept my hearthstone set to valdrakken anyway. It’s still the most convenient place for general navigation of the continent. And when you’re in the emerald dream it’s not like it’s a long or tedious flight to ever get back to the central hub. Hearthing back there isn’t that necessary.
Ask a mage for a portal?
Yet there’s a portal to it from Valdrakken.
Why isn’t it both ways?

a portal from valdrakken to the new zone is alot more than u got last patch with zaralek.
These are all the ways I have to get back to Valdrakken.
- Captain’s Signet of Command to Boralus to SW to Val
- Jaina’s Locket to Dalaran to SW to Val
- Admiral’s Compass to my Garrison to SW to Val
- Dalaran Hearthstone to SW to Val
- Garrison Hearthstone to SW to Val
- Holographic Digitalization Hearthstone set to Valdrakken
None are on the same timer 
the hearthstone cooldown isnt even that long… i’ve never gone to the emerald dream and had my hearth still on cooldown when i was ready to leave.

timeless isle didnt have a port back to vale of eternal blossoms.
mechagon didn’t have a port back to boralus
Do y’all not have Hearthstones?
Heck, both the Dalaran and Garrison ones are toys now and easy to get. If your main hearth is on CD just use the Dalaran Headthstone, take the sw portal, then take the val’draken portal.
Or, given how populated the zone is right now, you could always… you know… socialize and ask a mage for a port in this online game.
You’re making excuses for prior bad decisions, not logical points.
If Valdrakken has a port into the dream then why shouldn’t the portal work both ways?

What is the big deal here anyways? How often are you in the emerald dream for such a short period of time that your hearth is still on cool-down?
Like just be an engineer so you can use your wormhole port back to thaldraszus if it’s really that big of a deal.
But I would like to note that I am an engineer and I have never, not even once, had to use my engi worm hole to get back to valdrakken from the emerald dream.
less if you have the Homebound Speed cloak enchant.

A portal back to Valdrakken seems like a no-brainer to me.

Yeah, but it’s one of those “but, why?” situations.
Zereth Mortis had a portal to/from Oribos.
I guess not every zone gets one of these, Mechagon didn’t have an immediate way back, but Nazjatar did, Isle of Giants/Throne of Thunder you had to manually ride over to reach them, etc.
If there’s a portal directly in Valdrakken, why not put a portal back right under Amirdrassil, in the encampment? Half the work is already done.
They’ve already decided we can get there easily lol.
I’ve not really one to complain though, the hearthstone cooldown is short enough and we’ve got various others (Dalaran) and class teleports, so I’m not worried about it.
One of these days, my Fangs of the Father dagger hotkey is going to be broken from mashing it during unexpected drops.
Most of those drops came from losing at Portal Roulette, courtesy of the guild mage.
Uses hearth, then heads to ED, then remembers they left the stove on, need to get back stat. Oops, hearth on CD. Damn, there goes the kitchen.
Get the idea? Sometimes unexpected needs get in the way of perfect planning.
