Can we please add a blacklist keyword filter in game? tired of seeing lookingforgroup channel getting bombarded by summoner bots. What makes it worse is they have a macro on all of their windows open to bypass the slow-mode so they can post 3 messages at once that takes up the whole chat window. Having summoners is nice to get around but its a problem at this point. Adding a filter to parse the word “summon” or “summoning” to its own global channel or add a chat blacklist keyword would be a massive QOL change.
People going to say “just put lookingforgroup channel on a different window” but I want to see lookingforgroup on my main chat window without having 45 summoner bots spamming summoning services clogging lookingforgroup. Adding a chat keyword blacklist isn’t hard to code and will take care of this issue.
get lfg bulletin board can and will filter all of that. also you can make seperate chat windows that than not include that chat channel.
edit: you can legit get lfg bulletin board to filter out all the summoning posts from the channel you’re trying to look at. then you can also use ingame chat features to make a chat channel specifically just for talking to people without all the lfg and trade crap being spammed in it. with these two things ive never had a problem with it. and the summoning bots are very good for classic wow. let them stay. and the chat is fine you just need that addon to tweak things a bit.
first of all did you read the second paragraph of the post?
LFG bulletin board doesn’t filter out messages coming into global lookingforgroup channel in your default chat box it just parses the data and creates a window you can easily see people’s advertised runs
having LFG in a separate window defeats the purpose, I don’t like to have a huge LFG bulletin board window up at all times looking for runs and like having a majority of things happening in 1 window so I don’t miss anything in LFG/party/guild etc
I don’t have a filter for summons since it’s not an issue in retail but the way i have it set up for powerleveling is this: (exact copy-paste)
([contains=wts] or [contains=service] or [contains=sell] or [word=fast] or [contains=afk]) and (([contains=power] or [contains=pwr]) and ([contains=level] or [contains=lvl]))
any of those formats with the word “summon” should work.
