I get paid in USDC on the ethereum network. I pay for my groceries in USDC. I pay my landlord in USDC. I really want to be able to pay for my blizzard subscription in usdc.

This. And you can do batch usdc redemptions. So, your wallet can be filled with thousands of orders before you trigger the redemption, and you are good. to go. I have to do the redemption, and then move money to a card, and then pay blizzard. It is just a hassle to have to do it.
My point is that you can convert your niche cryptocurrency into actual cash money. Blizzard is happy to accept cash money.
That’s the price you pay for using weird internet ‘money’.

Sir, cash is not money. checks are not money. They are made up and printed by the government. by your definition, the only thing that is money is something like gold.

Which obviously isn’t true.
Usdc is as valid a form of money as paypal, debit or credit cards, which are made up by banks.
Here’s the thing: Those things are backed by something, namely what’s in your banking accounts. They’re not pulled from thin air to give to someone. They’re not going to take some online money that someone have to jump through hops to get a hold of.

Cash is legal tender, aka money.
Cheques are not printed by the government. They are printed by banks.
Gold, per se, is not legal tender. You can’t go to the local store and spend gold.
It’s not legal tender and business are not required to accept it.

You cannot pay your WoW subscription with cash or gold.

USDC is backed. If you go to redeem it, they send you a BANK WIRE.
When you go to redeem a credit card account transaction, the credit card company sends the merchant a BANK WIRE.
They are the EXACT SAME THING.
So you admit there’s a way to do it, you just don’t want to have to deal with the hassle.

The hassle involves asking a friend from another country buy the prepaid cards and send me the card info. And its too much. I am getting charged $10 for every $100 worth of cards I get.

USDC stands for USD-Circle. Its backed one to one by the circle corporation group. Its issued like a cryptocurrency, and it interacts natively with ethereum. It is redeemable for US dollars via a bank wire. If you don’t have access to a good bank, you can use usdc in lieu of dollars, and it just works.
