Playing WoW is reminding me of Banjo Kazooie

Clarification: I love Banjo Kazooie.

However, WoW is really feeling like playing that without the charm. Running around the zones they’re little more than filler at the end of the day, like running around Gruntilda’s layer looking for the method to open the next world. Except for WoW once the next world (dungeon) is open you’re expected to just play it over and over with ever heightened damage sponges and movement mechanics. New loot increases numbers but again, loot is basically just puzzle pieces like in Banjo-Kazooie. Just unlocks the next world. But for wow the next ‘world’ is the same world you just did, but with more damage sponge and maybe one new mechanic thats solved by moving to the left a little.

WoW is feeling pretty shallow to me. The lore is kinda cool but feels like the coming twists are almost spelled out for everybody. Not a lot of mystery or mystique. Most of the next raid is gonna be filled with ‘Remember this character?!’ stuff which isn’t bad per-say, but done repetitively gets bothersome. Is kinda feeling like Activision-Blizzard saw the success of WoW Classic and went “ok, lets make Nostalgia: The WoW expansion for retail”.

I don’t think WoWs quality could come anywhere near close to the kind B&K does.

One is a perfectly designed sandbox, the other is a leaking sandbox with wet sand and a slot machine thrown into the middle of it that’s likely the cause of the crack.

I mean, the Revendreth music was composed by Grant Kirkhope so…

I…I didn’t know. That’s kinda cool but dang. No wonder I’ve been thinking about Banjo Kazooie

Last time I checked, banjo kazzoie didn’t have anywhere near the bugs wow has.

The “Hee hee ha ha” bandicoot wouldn’t fit in as a Vulpera

Ahh. Such fond memories of the past! I listen to these pieces of music on loop regularly. Grant Kirkhope really is a legend with the music he makes.

Cloud cuckooland!! Ah I miss that level. Not the minecraft races with that bird though, would kill my thumb doing those haha!

Thats probably the only really bad thing about Banjo Tooie. Everything else is golden. Maybe the other thing may be how tricky it is to find a way into Grunty Industries the first time.

How dare you compare a classic like Banjo Kazooie to WoW right now.
