Clarification: I love Banjo Kazooie.
However, WoW is really feeling like playing that without the charm. Running around the zones they’re little more than filler at the end of the day, like running around Gruntilda’s layer looking for the method to open the next world. Except for WoW once the next world (dungeon) is open you’re expected to just play it over and over with ever heightened damage sponges and movement mechanics. New loot increases numbers but again, loot is basically just puzzle pieces like in Banjo-Kazooie. Just unlocks the next world. But for wow the next ‘world’ is the same world you just did, but with more damage sponge and maybe one new mechanic thats solved by moving to the left a little.
WoW is feeling pretty shallow to me. The lore is kinda cool but feels like the coming twists are almost spelled out for everybody. Not a lot of mystery or mystique. Most of the next raid is gonna be filled with ‘Remember this character?!’ stuff which isn’t bad per-say, but done repetitively gets bothersome. Is kinda feeling like Activision-Blizzard saw the success of WoW Classic and went “ok, lets make Nostalgia: The WoW expansion for retail”.
