Playing WoW Cost

Do you guys know how much it cost you to play wow everyday?

If you know say how many hours and days you play the game for.

Let’s see… I had account issues the other other. I called Square Enix in California. I got charged $48 for 33 minutes of long distance. (Cancelled FF, their number is clearly false advertisement.) So I imagine WoW would coast a lot more, but the social contribution of all sub makes it affordable.

Let’s see. Expansion releases once every two years or so, at a cost of about fifty bucks, and a subscription cost at about thirteen a month…that’s about fifty cents a day. I’m not about to admit how many hours I spend playing each day… :expressionless:

It cost me my soul. And an entire year of my life in played time.

I mean for example I play everyday sadly maybe I miss a day or 2 every 2 weeks maybe but,

Lets say I play Average 3 Hours a day 5 Days a week

Assuming every 2 years new expansion.

340$ + 720 Hours a year… assuming my hourly pay around 30-40$ lets do it at 35$ so that’s around 25200$ a year plus 340 = 25540$ a year its costing me to play WoW… lol

If I worked as much as I played WoW, I’d be a little under $200,000 richer with my current hourly rate.

XD, a lot of people dont calculate that stuff, dont get me started on people who watch TV and shows…

Since, I have an annual account it costs 43 cents a day for my subscription. I don’t really need to break it down per hour myself.

Well yea it cost you that much but… you gotta calculate your hours putting in the game also… your time is money when you work right?

You get paid X amount if you work X amount of hours

What?

That is a silly way to look at it. WoW and video games are a leisure activity that you do to relax. Relaxing costs you very little and is actually good for your health.

But hey, if you have the fortitude to replace all of you leisure time with more work, you do you.

I work 30 hours a week and make enough to live comfortably in California. I am not going to monetize my hobbies. That would be the opposite of a work-life balance.

Dont get me wrong am playing it and I do play every day but I cant help but think how much it costs me to sit down and play it kinda annoys me while enjoy playing my game lol

I would be infinitely poorer because I would be dead if I worked all the time because I’m not interested in a life with no joy.

It would be interesting if someone tried to calculate the actual real cost. Subscription with the computer, electricity, internet, any other hardware needed for the computer use.

My problem used to be I worked every day for about 3 years like 17 hours a day doing 3 jobs but now am chilling which kinda annoys me but I want to chill and sit I dont want to work but part of me telling me get back to work all day haha

Edit:

and yes its not healthy to work 17 hours and barely sleep, I blacked out once actually because I forgot to eat or drink anything all day.

You deserve the rest. Even though you clearly have a good work ethic, you are a person first and foremost, and it’s healthy to do person things like relaxing, resting, eating enough, etc.

Yeah, am just trying to retire at age of 40 who knows if I can do that 25 currently so got 15 more years haha

Been there myself. Though, it was one job for 17 hours a day to make ends meet. Now, I am in a job that pays well and I am taking advantage of the time available for myself and family.
