Wow what a waste of time! Consoleport so far has been a steaming pile of hot, putrid, vile, repulsive, festering, maggot laden garbage. I thought it might be interesting to use a controller to farm and quest while using my treadmill or trampoline but that is certainly not happening as of now with this addon.
First off my character starts off constantly autorunning, then when I try to set anything up it either closes itself or closes wow. Just having consoleport running makes your mouse basically unusable (you can see your cursor but clicking doesnât do anything) so you canât even use your kb&m to set anything up. Left stick only adjusts camera and right stick up and down ALSO adjust camera but left and right steer. These default controls make absolutely no sense, why on manâs decaying earth would you not have left stick set to default to movement like every other game in existence and why TF is autorun on by default??? So frustrating trying to attempt to set things up while your character is running in circles and into lakes and crap. (I thought ORG would be a safe place to set this up it was surprisingly not)
So if google ever brings you to this morbidly undying thread do not attempt to use this addon unless you are extremely patient and determined to use a controller. I might try again later idk and update this post with a less scathing review if I have any luck when my patience gauge refills, but I already wasted 20 mins Iâll never get back just running in circles and closing and reopening wow.
Iâve been using consoleport quite a bit for questing, itâs been pretty fun.
Donât think Iâve had any of those issues youâre describing. Iâm still using the legacy version. Think I need to backup and try the update using the native controller support WoW has now.
Left stick moves and right controls camera, always defaulted to that for me as well.
I use clique as well, but have been using the Hold to target option to heal my niece and I when weâre leveling with controllers. The raid cursor is pretty easy too, but Iâve not done any large group yet.
Iâd been leveling enhancement with one, it was fun. Do you pvp or something where you need that many keybinds? Iâve got an orc shaman as well thatâs a higher level and it now has me wondering how many keybinds I use regularly, as that seems real high for me.
I started using it just to change up the experience when leveling another character.
Combined with a few other mods, one of which became standard for me, it definitely gave it a different feel. Made leveling a bit more fresh.
I was doing it without ConsolePort, using Xpadder during WoD. Not quite 10 years for me.
But far too many people are naive and ignorant to what you can do with a controller. Of course there are a ton of bad players on Keyboard and Mouse so shouldnât be surprising I guess.
Iâve got characters Iâve been leveling using console port, Iâm looking forward to trying some raids with them once theyâre high enough. Iâm sure itâll be nice and easy.
I do love console port even just for auction listing.
I miss the old batch post function of auctioneer and the base game has so much back and forth with the mouse that it makes it slow. I can now put my controller cursor on the auction post, and use my mouse to click the item and hit A on the controllerâŠsooo much easier.
I use a g13 i salvaged too! Itâs got a couple dead buttons but after using dominoes to set my bars up to match everything, a 12 button mouse and reprogramming keybinding i can say itâs possible to get very good and competitive with it. Macros really quadruple the potential. Iâm curious how youâve got yours setup because thereâs always something to learn from the experience of others. Thanks in advance
When you play GTA 3, 4 or 5 on a pc, you use mousepad for vehicle. And you use mouse and keyboard on gun shooting.
WoW is more of a gun shooting than driving a vehicle. You use mouse and keyboard for it.
You can use controller on WoW, but you would be destroyed easily. For trivial task like leveling and world quest, it would work But for Mythic+, raiding and PvP, good luck with your controller.
