Why can’t the modern WoW story be like it is in these zones? Simple, clean narrative, in a location that’s been part of the franchise for longer than five minutes, with grounded characters, following on from events people cared about, with a new race people had wanted for a long time.
I don’t even know what Shadowlands is. It’s like I’m playing through someone’s fanfiction where they’ve taken all of their favourite characters out of Azeroth and sent them to a cRaZy nEw wOrLd to mess around for 2 years. I can only imagine that Danuser conceived of the SL story by banging his Anduin and Sylvanas figurines together in the bathtub making rocket noses.
Because there really isn’t anything like that left. They have used up all the story possibilities that have been in the game for more than five minutes. So unless you want them to start rehashing old stories for the third time or to start scraping the bottom of the barrel and giving us stories about minor races like Quillboar or Kobalds they need to come up with something new.
And something new means dealing with the universe’s problems.
Honestly the bones of the idea of dealing with the celestial realms isn’t bad. It’s just they are going about introducing them to the game in the worst possible way, leaving us with no real vested intrest in the events we are being thrust into.
If they want to make the cosmic forces/realms stick, they need to make the next few expansions about that, and not returning to Azeroth. If we go back to Azeroth next expansion, it’s going to make it even more difficult next time they want to ship us off to yet another cosmic realm with little connection to players.
That’s because they did a rubbish job of explaining or giving backstory in-game, topped off with GoT season 8 levels of horrendous writing.
They really need to stop putting major lore events and information in books / outside sources, and build to significant lore events organically in-game.
I always remember the Morbent Fel questline from vanilla, for example, because it actually had build up and and a half decent, arching storyline

This isn’t difficult. If you don’t understand what the OP is saying, ask for clarification. OP was pretty easy to understand to me. You keep cherry picking phrases, instead of reading the whole thing in context.
It’s okay to misunderstand. That’s why I clarified for you, because stuff happens, the OP was being hyperbolic due to the craptastic writing. I misunderstand sometimes, too. I usually try to ask so that I know what I’m trying to comment on.

Once again… you cherry picked phrases, missed the hyperbole, and assumed that the OP doesn’t know anything about Shadowlands and posted a map. I explained what he meant, you got all uppity about it.
