Playing BM now

Is it just me or is the damage output been cut in half in the past week or two?

Nothing has changed on my end. Same gear, same talents, same rotation, but my damage went from 90k Single Target down to barely 50k, and 300k AoE down to 100k. Im genuinely asking because I got my hunter geared over a month ago and this has happened recently.

I cant even push to 3.4k io now….

nothing happened, link a log where you’re strugging in a key

I found some logs, you’re making a bunch of rotational mistakes

Brother, 24 minute key, 2 puzzle box uses, no battle potions, you have so many gaps where you just afk and stop pressing buttons, press a cobra shot here and there, 37 cobra shots is wild, you need to press buttons more, use your trinkets and pots.

Here’s a 16 Seat I did, almost a minute faster than your key and my total cast is mile higher than yours.

Beastmaster has been an experience. I started with a demon hunter, but never mind that. Elemental Shaman, Arms Warrior, Demonology Warlock, they all have a similar feel to their damage output and and the fake numbers on the fake meter in the fake dungeons with the fake followers give out very similar levels. Elemental Shaman is the best of them, but that’s probably a playstyle thing.

Shadow Priest is a wrecking ball, it just burns down groups and singles like they were paying for it.

Beastmaster is more like solo tank damage, but less. Its a gradual chipping away of a mob while your pet(s) get pummeled and healed. Slow, little bits of damage, like a faucet just dripping away, taking little bits off the target every so often.

Its very gradual, like you don’t want the mob to notice. But because you have pets there soaking the mob’s attention, you can take all day. Just keep those pets healed and keep sanding it down and eventually you will get there.

And that seems to be the manner of it.

I just started recently so maybe it was something else before? But Beastmaster is like chill lo-fi dps.

It used to be way more fun. The pets were way sturdier too. Also way faster. It feels like swimming through molasses now. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have played BM as a main basically since WoW came out. I don’t think it’s been more boring or weak feeling EVER. There’s like 3 buttons you press and none of them are satisfying.

Bestial wrath is the satisfying button to press, you press it in aoe with beast cleave up and it hits like a truck, if you’re leveling then of course you’re missing talents that make BW giga juiced

Shall we pull up a vod of classic wow ?

I haven’t noticed any change in damage for BM.

To talk about BM as a whole, it has slightly lower spike damage than some other classes, but being on a 30sec cooldown, Bestial Wrath gives BM that damage more frequently during a longer engagement.

If I compare my UHDK (1.5min cooldown) against my BM Hunter (30 sec cooldown) on the single PvP target dummy, the UHDK peaks 110k dps, while BM peaks around 90k dps.

This is the problem.

Outside BW you hit like a wet noodle.

The solution is that BW already has 50% uptime and the most downtime you get is 15 sec.

I tend to hold it under certain circumstances.

What circumstances, unless a pack is going to die within 5 seconds after pressing you don’t hold it

you shouldnt be holding that, like at all.

That’s precisely the scenario.

Especially when solo.

Not popping BW when theres two mobs left and they have sub 5% hp.

Sure but that happens once in a blue moon and that means you pop it next pack pull

You still shouldn’t be holding it

I mean solo, anything dies in 5 seconds even without bw
