Im currently Resto but i see alot of waiting and requirements for tanking
is it possible to setmyself up as resto and guardian off spec?
i assume it would need 2 sets of gear?
i currently play resto andin open world switch to a balance spec (thinking of setting up a feral also) as open world doesnt seem to worry too much about min maxing
but just wondering if anyone is playing guardian/resto and how they find it?
Your secondary stats won’t be ideal, but if you have 1 polearm and 1 staff to swap, almost/all other pieces will swap your primary stat with your spec as most of the items have both agility and intelligence available. The only exception that comes to mind is trinkets. So maybe have a different weapon and SOME trinkets, though most of those also have universal stats. I play guardian for lower tier stuff without issue.
I only use resto for dungeons, Guardian or Feral for world content (although I suppose Balance would also be good). As far as gear, the only thing you will have to change between Guardian and Resto is your weapon and possibly some trinkets.
Weapons & trinkets for sure; jewelry maybe.
Guardian usually wants vers while resto wants haste as their secondary but resto also scales the most from raw item level intellect, since jewelry is nothing but secondary youd probably want seperate piece between specs.
That being said i was guardian with a vers>haste=mastery kind of a set up the first 3 weeks of DF then went resto when my tank friends came back using the same gear sans weapons/trinket and was fine til ~13s when i decided i wanted some faster cast times for that grevious week regrowth spams.
So I main Guardian/Resto
Depends on my mood and what is needed.
Luckily, both specs benefit from Haste as top stat, so there is a lot of cross over there. Until you get to the 15+ range, honestly it won’t make a huge difference what you have on the rest so long as you have good haste.
In addition, if you want to focus on DPS for both specs, Crit is the #2 stat for both for a DPS focus. But for me, I just go for haste right now until I get far enough along to get ideal stats for both specs.
You will need to get 2 sets of weapons and trinkets, which can be annoying, but not too hard. Otherwise, its pretty easy.
