So I never played during classic, especially with the limited races for each class. Apparently Gnome is hands down a better choice for mage over Humans…but the issue is I just do not like the way Gnomes look at all. So like would I be some outcast during classic not rolling a Gnome?

I think it is that min/max thing in the back of my head that is getting to me, that and reading all these classic class guides online.
Only gnome matters.
Only Troll matters.
Your enjoyment is irrelevant to the .1% increase in effectiveness you may obtain in certain circumstances.
That being said… If you plan to PvP in battlegrounds and grind reputation to exalted for anything… Human. Because all the people playing anything else in the entire game are just wrong obviously. :-p
Gnome is the “better” mage choice but only because you’re getting like an extra 3 dps, or something lame like that
I wouldn’t care about race choice unless you’re a Priest, and even if you’re a Priest it’s not THAT important

i agree. play human if its more aesthetically pleasing to you. Min/Maxing sure if you’re going hardcore and a bigger mana pool/5% intellect is important to you…go gnome. If you’re chilling,casual/semi hardcore, follow your heart and go human. I’m going human or undead as a warlock
One of my first serious raiding toons was a female human Mage. I loved her. The cute lil dance, the spell animations, the way gear and weapons looked on her. Sure Humans aren’t the top race choice but it’s completely your choice. I’m sure any guild you get into would be happy to have a food/water portal making machine.
Gnome. Not even because of the +int racial, just because gnome.

Gnomes are only the best choice in PvE. In PvP where you have people and not machines controlling the enemies, everyone will always target filthy stinking Gnomes first. Humans will survive 10x longer. It’s a hidden racial.

I’m going to main a human warlock for classic, so like you the gnome would be the best choice for stats. I’m going to be doing enchanting and from everything I’ve heard about classic there are plenty of rep grinds.
That 10% extra rep can save you hours of grinding depending what you’re going for. The spirit racial isn’t bad either.
The human rep grind racial is really good. Don’t under estimate its value. Honestly that racial alone is worth going human

if it can be human, it might as well be human.
that said, gnome is a better caster race due to their passive int racial.
Play what you want.
If I recall right they also have higher base int
I’m playing gnome. Female models look better than males. If you still are worried just play what you want. Heck with the rest. 🤷:+1:

Are you on time?
Are you competent (ie, know the mechanics and your rotation)?
Did you bring your consumables?
Are you not a jerk?
If you answered yes to all these questions then it doesnt matter what your race/class combo is.

I would say not being a jerk and at least one of the other questions is yes then you are still doing pretty good. 2 yes and not a jerk is wonderful, 3 yes and not a jerk and guilds will fight over you.
