Gnomes are fun to pvp with, unironically.
Its all about perspective: it makes big bad orcs look bigger and badder. Which makes chopping them down more gratifying.
Rolling gnomes around is very serious business and should never be approached ironically. It’s how we know they’re very ball like and good for punting.

In all honesty, because of our size it looks like we run faster than anyone else.
I like being part machine. The fact that people seem to hate this race so we’re somewhat rare is just icing on the cake for me. I have a normal gnome as well though, gnome mage was actually my very first character.
I find them comical, which is important. I don’t take them too seriously. And they aren’t just a bundle of steroids like every. other. male. model. If you want a male character that isn’t “I’m a big tough ripped guy” you really have no other choice.
I’m only adding to my mechagnome roster. This is low key my favorite race, and definitely my favorite race to play as male.

Seems to be a lot of gnome love. The students and professors of GnomeTech would be proud.
I felt the same way for a long time about gnomes. Then I got on a weird gnome kick and made several. I no longer feel that way.
I would imagine between transmog and say immersion they put a lot of ppl off.
What ended up appealing to me was playing one as a warrior but mage has always worked for me too. A gnome putting out the same power as a Tauren or tanking a boss. The concept is generally impossible if the scenario was real for any race in relation to boss size. So gnome tanking like Ragnaros or Deathwing etc…
Its hard to explain if you currently don’t understand the appeal.
Transmog appearance though pushes me back to larger characters tho
I will admit mechagnomes especially are a transmog failure in some ways. Your arms and legs will always be exposed (robes will be sleeveless) and the only thing that really meshes well with the robotics is this heritage I’m wearing. At least for me this is pretty much the coolest I can ever look.
If they just made silver and rusted heritage tints I’d be satisfied though, not gonna lie.
Gnomes are small and round, so they’re pretty easy to roll.
Have you seen a gnome wearing that jester outfit? Particularly the rogue gnomes, brandishing two daggers? Stuff of nightmare, I tell ya…
I like to think my transmog look meshes nicely as well, besides just heritage
