@Players who bought the Dreambound Augment Rune

For those of you who bought this, can I ask:

  • Why?
  • Are you happy with your purchase?

Some quick napkin math puts the rune at about $8 (based on the token), which isn’t a lot of money, but is it worth it?

I’m happy with it. I use it quite frequently.

As to the why? I like having another button to push.

I’ve spent more than that swapping leg enchants around to play different druid specs sooooo…

I don’t know, go earn gold?

This nonsense is why I can’t usually take people seriously around here.

As a tank, not super worth

Last I checked it was something like 50ish dps gain for me

Got it on 4 characters - and worth it all the way. The later in the season the less worth it would be.

i bought three.

for my tank, my first to 2k mythics this season.
for m y BM hunter, 3rd toon to 2k.
For my arcane mage that I am currently 1800+ and could be 2k by the end of the week.

I did not buy one for my disc priest (also 2k rating). I didn’t feel she needed it.

I am happy with the purchase. these are usable on demand (with a very short cooldown). this means you can use them in all sorts of scenarios where you would never buy a rune off the AH.

i do a fari amount of pug BGs on the hunter. i use that rune after every death.

I think 100k gold is a bit ridiculous, but it is just game money.

100k for 87 mainstat for a year on that char.

Honestly I think it should work like the talons/charms in Monster Hunter and just be a passive buff as long as it’s in your inventory.

As for why, anyone pushing keys is always trying to push a little extra out of their character, I’d say the same for PvP but I have no idea if it’s usable there as I don’t PvP.

OP, looks like you have a mistake in line 3 of your napkin math…

Why? I just had the gold sitting around and it barely put a dent in my budget.

Are you happy with your purchase? Yep. I’m going to use this for the rest of the expac - every minute of every raid, dungeon, allowable PvP content, and world content. It will pay for itself over the months or come close enough.

So far yes, but I’m just an overworld player. I was using the one from WoD on all my characters and it’s an improvement from that.

You’re assuming that people always buy tokens to buy things in the game. What about those of us with millions of gold and very little to spend it on? I don’t even think I am rich in the game and could buy this for all 23 characters with gold to spare.

What DO you think counts as rich?

Gold just sitting around in your bags doesnt equate to real money for most normal people.

I only have 400k I ain’t about to blow 100k of it on a clicky thats good for like 6 more months for content that is about to be outdated…

WTB price nerf to 20k then ill splurge on something fancy like that.

It’s always good to have a buff that increases your DPS for raid and M+.

Because I could

No because I forget to use it.

if you have to ask the question, you don’t do the type of content in which you’re expected to have it.

so don’t worry about it.
