So does anyone else run killshot addon or similar addons? Because I just had an enhance shaman get so TILTED that he decided to risk banning and throw his games because my addon emoted upon killing him. Like wtf? There are more important things to take more seriously. Made my day to get so much rage whispering from him.
I stopped caring about emotes when they removed /spit. Not that I cared if people spit on me, I just liked spitting on people and see if they would do it back so we could have a spit fight.
Fart is my go to
I’d post a screenshot but not sure how to add into the post. It was quite comical to see him get so mad.
ive got reported and banned for emotes before. (when i checked the log of messages i was reported for they were 99% emotes and/or “kidney shot on X” messages)
i never stopped using them, i still use my killshot addon and still /nosepick every KB i get…
i think they cracked down on bans because in the past month ive got 8 behavior warnings but no ban/suspension… whereas previously i would only get 1 warning followed by a susension.
its kinda crazy this game u can torture ur enemy with fire magic, or decapitate their limbs with battle axes… but dont u dare make a silly emote to any1 thats wayy too far man
Wait how do you do this? Would be more entertaining than playing the game atm
i think u can only do it once u have been banned.
u have to go to the appeal page and then it will show you all the messages you have been reported for in a little scroll box.
Uh… What did you (or your addon) emote?
Lottieshots, it came to our attention that you flagged one of our shaman brother as your kill target mercilessly.
Shaman Council hereby decides to put bounty on you dead or alive as a result of your recent actions.
I use the addon Killshot and uses three different emotes when you kill someone: slap, rasp, and spit. But the latter isn’t really used much anymore. I think what really set him off was when he complained about my addon being “gai”, I said “thanks!” LOL
Spit doesn’t really do much. Rasp just says “makes a rude gesture”.
Some people can’t take a little ribbing, or even criticism (when it’s given constructively). I’m the half decent but not always consistent player who can land gnarly hail Mary traps without setup stuns, and 90 seconds later disengage off the bridge in blades edge and have to throwaway a cd for it.
A lot of the times I get /lol’d in a match or bg, I probably had it coming.
Emotes are a big part of the games personality and competitiveness. Whispering/typing some direct hateful stuff though, that’d be different.
With that all being said, we all know the deal in RSS nowadays. You may wanna turn that add on off, and be a little extra kind to people if you’re going to ask them to play differently, or pay more attention to something if you wanna reduce the overall number of times someone will find a reason to throw with you on the team. It’s unfortunate not everyone has a sense of humor and a bit of humbleness, but that’s life.
idc if u choose to disrespect someone with an emote after beating them but don’t act surprised when they respond negatively to it
UHH you should by now that in WoW you cannot be toxic in anyway heck you cant even call out servers anymore cause youll get silenced . everyone has a safe space now lol
You act toxic and have someone be toxic back to you, and you’re surprised?
Talk sh*t get hit. Shaman did nothing wrong.
Emoting another player isn’t a bannable offense. Spamming said emotes is though.
This pretty much sums up what everyone needs to know. An addon that simply blows raspberries at people you manage to get a kill on doesn’t warrant a ban.
Talk like this doesn’t move the conversation along. And it’s simply trolling and inflammatory. No where did I talk bad to the shaman at all. I even have screen shots from when he started going off. Blizz won’t find anything wrong except for him throwing the game. It’s no skin off my nose.
No. But you also can’t control how someone reacts to what you do, say, or even emote. A lot of people don’t like being emoted, specifically in PVP. Everyone knows this but you chose to do so anyway and the consequence of that choice was someone lashing out. Does it mean the other guy was right? Not necessarily. But it could be entirely prevented.
