Players stealing raid IDs

Hi need faster solution for people taking other peoples raid ids eg a hunter who will
not be named (Happy trolls) - on yojamba horde is holding afk holding a cthun raid id preventing a raid from doing it. Please remove him from instance and ban this toxic player from wow and anyone else who does these things.

The forums are not for reporting players. Delete this thread (or at least remove the person’s name) and open a ticket.

Why delete the thread? This sounds hilarious

It serves no purpose and will only get the OP in trouble.

His innocence is not going to get himself in trouble.

It’s against ToS and ban-able to name and flame someone on the forums. Especially when asking for someone to ban him.

I mean if he is in there holding it, it is his raid ID also…
Maybe if you invited him to your raid which he was clearly in at one time you would clear up the issue. Otherwise he has just as much right to be in there as you!

The way it works is a guild runs a raid like AQ or Naxx and doesn’t finish. They set up a later date to finish the raid.

Then someone from that guild joins an UBRS run, or another raid like Mc, BWL, etc. while they’re in the raid some random player from the new raid goes to the raid that’s saved, enters, locks themselves to the ID, and just stays there holding the ID. They can 100% prevent the guild from finishing their raid simply because they happened to be in a group with someone from the guild.

It’s a pretty annoying way to grief a large group of people and it’s becoming more common. There’s no way to prevent it from happening other than to only group with guildies for anything you do. Blizzard should take action against the people that are caught doing it.

I know how it works. No need to explain. The OP didn’t provide enough information to get to the point that your at. Only that someone was “stealing their raid ID”

For all we know the person in question was booted from or not invited back to the run and they feel like they are also intilted to finish the run.

The OP named and shamed so there is no reason to believe that the OP is 100% in the right here, clearly more is going on than meets the eye.

okay updated and yes he no longer online and we should be able to take back raid id now. not sure if he got dc or temp ban but should all be fixed can finish raid tomorrow. Also for your info what happend was the raid was reformed to kill cthun visc and someone (x) joined then zone in first then left raid then invite someone else then took id hostage.

In-game ticket or customer support forum would be your best options. This is griefing and against the rules and is an actionable offense.

Not necessarily. All it takes is to invite someone to a group that you know is saved to a raid. Promote them to lead and zone in. You’ll be asked to accept the id. You can now form your own group with a friend or your own second account and hold the id from the rightful owners.

Only one group can be in the raid at any time no matter the raid size.

I’ve heard about this on Earthfury a horde guild got ransom’d for they raid ID.

Everyone seems to be forgetting the most obvious solution to this problem: clear the raid in one night.

Some guilds are still progressing, another solution is don’t let non guildies hold open raid content while people are getting summoned due to WBs.

If a guildie is found to be ransoming then gkick.

Don’t forget that this type of behavior is actionable by blizzard if someone is ransoming your Raid ID etc

Soemtimes things don’t go as planned and people have to go to bed at some point. Well, those of us that have real life obligations I mean.

lol, I know. Sad.

Then nothing needs to be done. Just report the person doing it instead of making a thread about it?

I dunno, get good, I guess? Not sure what else can be said.

Your raid ID can’t be held hostage if you don’t have to kick people in the middle of it then return at another date. Perhaps look up a guide on how to play, or don’t bring jerks to your raids.

You have real life obligations that prevent you from spending 2 hours raiding?

Your raid should take that advice
