Players saying they dont have time. (why you play then?)

I never take that complaint seriously when it comes to a video game because you’re absolutely right. If time was that important they wouldn’t be in the content they are in. Their inability to manage their time appropriately does not constitute an emergency for anyone else.

If you know something could take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes and you only have 10 then, well, don’t do that thing.

Also, ITT: People that think others aren’t entitled to their time but believe they are entitled to those people’s effort.

I enjoy proving grounds, Haven’t done it for a while.

I ran several follower dungeons with low iLVL toons. Generally get a 460 piece and once got 2 460s.

It was fine, don’t think it helps you to learn tanking much.

Nokud dungeon where you fly is a real pain. Followers insisted on clearing everything and don’t seem to know where to fly. Don’t recommend that one.

learning any content is for everyone… if you can’t handle a new person learning with you then thats part of the problem. your experienced, you have the knowledge… but you now clip their wings for your own ego of being to good for a group with a newer player

I never run a dungeon as tank if i Haven’t already been there at least 10 times as DPS or healer. But when i do pug as tank the first time, i just say, “first time tanking this, so may be a bit slow. Feel free to run ahead a bit and even pull within reason.” Never had anyone complain. Did have several running ahead and pulling, but generally didn’t have a problem taking over aggro.

Nobody taught me. i learned by getting kicked and going on the internet to figure it out. Please don’t ask me to be mother theresa. rather than vote to kick, which is toxic, i leave, which is my privilege as someone who gets to manage their own play time.

Tbh I think that is just what impatient people say to make others feel down about wiping.

Same thing as “learning group huh?” And they leave. Lol

People’s attention spans are shorter. At the risk of being old-man-yells-at-cloud here, I place a lot of blame on social media for a good chunk of people.

People have trained their brains so that if something doesn’t immediately capture their attention or give that instant dopamine hit, they’re swiping to find something that does.

This translates into other parts of people’s lives, and I’m positive that some of the behavior you see in-game is related.

new players arent entitled to the help of other players. Not to say that they deserve getting hate or anything, but if someone doesnt want to deal with them then they have every right to leave

In both those examples, the people doing the teaching are getting paid to do it. It’s their job.

they literally are? completing it in the time frame as well as getting a higher score.

Some people just want to zoom through their keys so they can do something else they’d rather do.

blame limited time events. if you have say, 10 alts. you need to spend at minimum of about 10 hours to do basic weekly stuff.

now consider a 4 dungeon quest where you are prob spending atleast half that time in a que for dps specs. thats now 40 additional hours… we are now up to 50 hours out of the week. each has to do the raid for bullions. either they can easily get invited into the raid or can be bothered to form their own group. still, thats prob at least another 30 mins at the fastest or another 2 hours each at the longest. best case, we are now up to 55 hours
but wait, theirs more. if you work a full time job thats another 40 hours out of the week.
add in recommended sleep of 8 hours and that leaves you with 2.4 hours each day for everything else. eating, driving, etc. and thats not even considering the down time of the servers. 8 hour maintenance? that just deleted about half that time. leaving you with 1.2 hours free. that means all the content for the day can only take up a total of 1.2 hours more.

if you try to get all 10 alts in one day (i dont recommend doing it. focus each down per day) then you are left with like 12 minutes or so of time that content can be extended by for any given alt. :dracthyr_nervous_animated:

There’s a difference between “time” and “patience.”

I have a finite amount of time to play.

I enjoy character progression and challenge.

To maximize my enjoyment, I should push the highest content I can in my allotted time.

There are times, unfortunately, where my character progression is crossing paths with someone with different fun objectives or time allotment than me, like timewalking. This is an unfortunate intersect of the player base. It’s by design, but I understand why it’s designed that way.

So it defaults to a decision of, how much of the workload can I personally handle while I set the pace. If I can do more, I do more. Because of my objectives during my play session.

I rarely pull more than I can solo as a tank in farm content, I don’t care what everyone else does tbh. I’m playing the game in accordance with my objectives. If I get 4 others that are on the same page, neat! If I get 2 that aren’t? Neat! Y’all catch up when you’re comfortable. Let me know if you need direction. But I’m not pulling 1-2 mobs at a time, I don’t have to alter my pace in farm content like that.

Right now I’m squatting in battle stance for most of my 5-6 keys and still 2-3 +ing them. Why sit in defensive stance and waste time? Similar logic.

But not big enough for slow to be the norm, to the point that the majority of complaints are how every group is going fast?

Sounds more like a vocal minority. Which isn’t to say their concern isn’t legit, but it seems unlikely that it’s some kind of silent majority situation. Maybe if the group is actually very big they can make enough noise to get a slow runs LFD added.

If a pug is a normal dungeon than that kind of attitude is why the game doesn’t have enough tanks. Normal dungeons are so easy that the tank can literally be helped without slowing things down, and it will bring in a new player.

If it’s a higher dungeon than I would suggest playing normal but still wouldn’t have the leave mentality until I saw how they were doing. If it was just a wipe fest I would nicely tell them that it’s better to practice in lower content if they seemed legitimately new and asking questions.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with them but to be honest one of the reasons people don’t want to run with other people is becasue of the attitude of the post I responded to .

Before people would run things and when say a healer or a tank was new people actually had patience . Now most probably couldn’t spell patience even if they had auto-correct.

If you generally don’t have time to run m+, raids, or really anything in wow then you need to get your priorities straight. You generally shouldn’t even be playing if can’t do a 30 min to 40 min key

I feel this.

People having a complete and total meltdown when I didn’t know every possible shortcut to avoid every avoidable pull in every dungeon is why I don’t PUG as a tank anymore.

Taking an extra minute to kill some extra trash once or twice a dungeon isn’t the end of Azeroth.
