Players being killed by an invisible "Obsidian Wingguard"

The Wrathion area is having people hit by meteors that deal 60k damage to alliance through walls seemingly or via someone who is invisible. Either an NPC is bugged or only targeting Alliance, or a Hordie is abusing an exploit to invisibly farm Alliance.

Can confirm, was happening to me as well. Invisible ‘Obsidian Wingguard’ just rapid fire throwing these fireballs until I died.

Just had this happen to horde players. We literally couldn’t quest, killed over and over in two seconds.

As a note, I’m currently playing in War Mode. I can’t say whether anyone else is or not.

I’ve found a player of the other faction who was hitting people and killing them with this. But I don’t know if he was getting honor or not from it, so he started abusing this to get enemies down to 10% health instead to ‘drop out’ and kill them for the honor himself.

Pretty sure this is a player abusing a mechanic to target enemy players when they shouldn’t be able to.

Edit: And before someone asks… It’s a Demon Hunter character randomly appearing out of the sky. not dropping off of a mount. Not appearing stealthed from a corner. Just ‘appearing’ out of thin air over you.

Bug still exists, just experienced it with war mode on as well. Killed once outdoors and the other time the fire came through the wall in the basement with the spider rare. Assuming it’s a person exploiting something, they’re not visible and the game says the damage is being done by “Obsidian Wingguard”. Going to have to turn war mode off until this gets sorted.

It is 100% a Horde on Warmode exploiting the quest item Osoria’s Assistance for the Hands-Off Operation quest at the Obsidian Throne questing area. The dragon does an enormous amount of physical and fire damage when close in melee while rendering the mounted player invisible.

If you have a detection addon like Spy you may be able to identify who is responsible for this. In my case it was a feral druid bounty out in the open baiting people while his warrior friend used the exploit to kill anyone who came close.

Do report behaviour like this if you see it around!
