It’s only the mobs that you have to tame as a Hunter when doing your Pet quest.
So for the Orcs/Troll it’s the Dire Mottled Boar, Surf Crawler, and Armored Scorpid.
For the Tauren, the Adult Plainstrider, Prairie Stalker, and Swoop.
Night Elves, the Webwood Lurker, Nightsaber Stalker, and Strigid Screecher.
And Dwarf, the Large Crag Boar, Snow Leopard and Ice Claw Bear.
