The title sums it up. Classic wow should have game masters to police trash behavior like griefing and killing every NPC at a quest hub. Or at the very least give us an option to report them for that behavior. Right now there is no option for reporting a player or players for anything that would be constituted as griefing. In classic you were able to report them and hopefully a GM would show up, check logs, slap the offender with a temp ban and move along.
PVP is fine but not when a player is purposefully disrupting another player’s experience for prolonged periods of time. It is not PVP when a player who is 10+ levels higher than the zone is running around farming low level players who cant even hit them.
Also NPCs need a buff to combat trash players going in and destroying quest hubs. It is not hard to make the guards level 60 elites, it has been done before. Why hasn’t that been done from the start this time around? Blizzard you already knew people would start camping and disrupting low level zones with the nonsensical excuse of it being a PVP server. It’s not PVP when a player is farming quest hub NPCs to keep players from completing quests.
the faction under attack is full of cowards who don’t know how to organize a resistance. It’s just a slaughter of the weak and unworthy then. Still fun though.
xroads raid is one of my fondest memories about vanilla wow.
It has nothing to do with camping lowbies more than getting the feeling of an actual siege.
My guild raided it this week. Theres was 15 of us 40+, we thought we had had this in the bag. We were attacking towers on our way to xroad to have the defense chat spam horde side and give them a heads up we were on our way, we wanted the horde to answer the call and get reinforcements coming.
We finally made it to xroads, started clearing guards, got into the inn, killed the innkeeper and quest givers when 20+ guards started spawning on us and wiped us.
When we rezzed and and got ready for a second assault we were met with a raid group of 30+ lowbies ready to defend their quest givers with no fear of us being skulls. They straight up mobbed us and the battle kept on going for an hour with higher levels flying in to lend them a hand in the defense.
This is what classic is all about to me, people grouping up to attack / defend strategic points and answering the calls when sh1t hits the fan. You just dont get those kind of interaction in retail anymore, everyones just minding their own buisness trying to min/max their time.
Side note, the biggest quest giver in xroads is a lvl 60 and hits like a god damn truck
Those are not griefing unless you are talking about over the course of more than a day or so.
Killing questgivers and camping people is intended. Pvp is not defined by you, it is defined by what is possible in game combined with what is decreed by blizzard.
If you want opt-in pvp, that is what pvp realms are for. You can flag off any time you don’t agree with the situation. On these realms, it’s always on. It’s the ONLY difference between the realm types and the only reason to roll on a pvp realm.
