Player left their own key?

just got into an Ara-Kara +4 with my buddy…everything was fine and right in the middle of the first boss the guy (whose key it was) just randomly left. From there the other dps and tank left right after we killed the boss, leaving just me and my buddy.

no one said anything he just up and left…there were a couple of deaths but not enough to not time it.

I have 2 questions…do I report this player for griefing and 2 will this count as me and my friend abandoning the m+ creating a strike against us

thx…

Sometimes if your cat is in the oven you have time for a courtesy explanation. If you accidentally put your cat in the microwave though, you just gotta alt f4.

How do I tell these people without them finding out I’m a eight year old

Sometimes people have legit reasons for needing to leave.

Not saying that applies in this case, but it might have.

It’s just a shame that M+ isn’t a more flexible system in that respect.

yeah, that’s a wild range for keys unfortunately. he might have had an emergency come up. he might have just decided he was sick of playing for the night.

  1. nobody but you can answer this one
  2. no, it will not

thank You…
to the legitimate replies

You can, but it won’t be adjudicated that way. People can leave or (in a pre-made) remove a player for any reason or no reason at all. The only exception I can think of is trying to remove someone just before the last boss of an M+ dungeon dies (during the last boss fight with % already met), as that can reasonably be construed as griefing (trying to deprive you of a reward despite having participated for 95%+ of the time).

The player may have had a RL emergency or simply doesn’t think this particular comp will time the dungeon and it’s their key. That last bit is the most likely reason that reporting them would be useless… if they left your key (not their own key) then you’d maybe have a case for wasting people’s time, but even then “disband/remove for any reason or no reason at all” pretty much means the staff don’t have to review many complaints about abandoned keys or being removed from a key.

They have started to take note of those that intentionally brick someone else’s key, but action is based on “a great many” offenses of the same nature… a single report isn’t grounds for any kind of action.

You can’t lose M+ Score for abandoning a run (or even completing one WAY over time). You’ll get no automated punitive actions from Blizzard (M+ does not have a 30-min deserter buff; that’s only for queued dungeons, not pre-made groups). What kind of strike are you worried about specifically?

You can’t control when nature calls, you can only heed the warning of thunder and seek shelter from the ran or be caught stuck in the mud.

Griefing his own key? Is this a serious question.

Probably had to take a deuce.

Sure, why not.

i would at least think they can check the order of which people left so you should be okay.

3 examples of mine:

  • a guildie friend is firefighter. He plays in his free time, but sometimes… he has to do his job.
  • A friend is Chilean and lives in an area of frequent earthquakes. Not every day, but sometimes he quits and we already know what will appear on the news later.
  • another guildie have “spouse aggro” too often. And in my opinion, justified; they have 5 small children.
There’s a life out there not all in the life are the M+, key that burns, key that can be returned to its original number.
    It’s only a key, it’s only a game.

If Blizzard has any sense at all, they’ll look at who left first, but that’s setting the bar high for them.

Could have been any number of reasons:

  • Emergency phone call
  • Internet outage
  • power outage
  • PC overheated and shut down
  • Child got hurt in another room
  • cat/dog yelping for help got hurt

Any possible number of possibilities. Maybe you should worry less about a game and have a little more empathy. If my wife were in a car accident, I would flip the PC off and bolt out the door. Some video game is not that important.

I wouldn’t report something like that. I’d just move on.

no.

the party is the party. leaving it is not related to being tis leader.

Person left a key

-It was THEIR key
-They left EARLY (so not much time wasted)
-Not EVERY SINGLE LEAVE is a GRIEF

Jeez people are going to be so report happy now. STOP REPORTING people for every little thing. Move on.

I’ve had to leave keys I created early due to real life, stomach troubles, animal troubles, kid aggro, parent aggro etc. LIFE HAPPENS.

Heck yesterday I left random dungeons not once but twice cause REAL LIFE HAPPENS.
