"Player is playing a different version" when we are not

Like the title says, cannot invite anyone at all. Says on friends list “Player is playing a different version” and when i do /invite it says player not found.

Our versions are the same.

Any ideas?

Having same issue , i need an adult.

Doesn’t help. Same error
Both playing 54601

/invite instead of using the battlenet friend screen, it works!

Yes, the /invite works, but that’s a terrible way to invite a friend to a group. My wife does not have this issue, she can invite me with the social GUI, just me that can’t invite becuase she’s “playing a different version” which she isn’t.

For the record, I tried check and repair from the blizzard ap, no help. I tried renaming/Deleting my CACHE, INTERFACE, and WTF folders. No help there either. I am tempted to remove the game completely and reinstall, but I gave up other plans to play tonight, so i don’t want to waste hours doing a reinstall.

bliz devs (a fellow programmer) need to make sure to assign game versions to a certain type, for instance, retail = “current”, and mop event = “pandamonium”, SoD = “discovery”, and so on. While making sure that the “current version” of the game isnt “10.2.7.54601”, it just needs to make sure that the player is playing the same certain “type” of game.

Communities and guilds are all showing everyone offline. This patch is hot garbage.
