Bumping!!!
If they donât add some sort of PVP aspect to housing, gonna be a big olâ L for me personally.
I donât know why people are signing their posts with their guild and all their fancy titles. A little weird if you ask me, if this gets enough traction hopefully Blizzard will see it, no need to act important.
Either way, as someone whoâs played multiple MMOs and has a degree in game design, it really depends on how Blizzard implements player housing. Will there be different sizes of homes? What will decorating be like? Customization? Thereâs a lot of factors that come into play here. I personally think the best guide should be ESOâs housing. Depending on the house size, there are player limits. What those limits are is up to Blizzard.
A catalog of homes would be an excellent feature. Players could opt-in to list their home, and add a description. This would also allow RPers space to delve into location proxy, purpose, etc. Another feature of allowing the player that owns the home to mark it as an open space (allowing anyone to use it freely) or closed (needing an invite from the player to join), would work wonders for the RP community in curating these spaces.
My personal opinion is that the number of players in a single home should be fairly limited and regulated. I know RPers arenât the majority, but I would hate to see walkup RP killed in places like Stormwind because of guilds just all huddling in the GMs house. What makes MG and WrA feel alive is that people are out RPing in the world. Iâm in favor of such things, if it wasnât obvious. I would really like to see Blizzard take the RP community into account while they continue to design this system.

If the mage community is any indication, these thousands should be replying to this thread every ~12 hours until a blue acknowledges it.
I donât RP or anything, but hope they make it happen for you.
We have garrisons, closing ticket!

What does the âEâ stand for? :o
Absolutely signed.
An addendum however.
I do think itâs important to allow people to control when they want it public. Elder Scrolls Online for instance, allowed you to restrict a house to yourself, your friends, or to the public, and sometimes when the house is under construction, or youâre doing RP that maybe you donât want metagamed, you donât want visitors. Imagine two characters plotting the IC downfall of another, and that potential victim of political intrigue comes over in the middle of the plotting. Awkward.
I do think, and this is unrelated to THIS SPECIFIC HOUSING ISSUE.
Housing needs to let people have the kind of spaces they want. I play Orcs. I donât want to be stuck in housing thatâs neutral looking. I want an orc hovel, much like the ones you see in the RTS games. I want to decorate the inside of that thing. But on the flipside, maybe that orc decides wants something more strongholdy. I think every race, culture, faction, etc. needs to have housing of various sizes.
- You might have you hovel, your farm, etc.
- But you might also have your like, mid sized
- and then you could have the biggest, most expensive, easily used as guild housing sized homes.
Iâm not sure what the devs have in mind but those are my thoughts.
Iâm not a roleplayer.
But you have my sword.
And my bow.
And my axe.
Kulo say, this seem like purty good idea!
Will bring garlic-fried beetles to party.
Looks up from the dinner table with the missus and his three kids âDo you mind? Trying to enjoy a nice family dinner here.â Sics the 1,000 Hellhounds he keeps in the kennels on the home invader
I am not even a roleplayer and I am definitely signing this. Being able to visit and explore other playerâs houses is extremely important to me. I love seeing everyoneâs creativity.
I love this idea.
A lot of players may just want to build their homes, but there is so much RP potential with these spaces. Create your own little bar, bakery, bed and breakfast, etc. If this system is robust, the possibilities are limitless.
As the leader of a small community project (Church of Ashen Light), this feature could be super helpful in making our RP more accessible. No more using Tyrâs Hand for the monastery or chapel; instead, we could make our own. Coming to our events wouldnât require completing a phasing quest chain. Just queue up and youâre there.
Would love to see this come to fruition. I have said time and again over the years that Blizzard would have to put a lot of work into a housing system if they ever added it, and I was pleasantly surprised to see the announcement of housing for Midnight.
The me that started playing in Classic running a bar in stormwind would have loved to have a customizable space that I could choose to list publicly as a bar for people to just hang out at. Even if it only allow a small raidâs worth of people, it would still be such a huge way to drive engagement with a feature that many fear would kill passive RP in cities.
Hereâs to hoping Blizzard delivers as well as they have been recently!
Yeah Blizzard has really been doing a fantastic job lately! I think they understand how huge this feature is. I have high hopes!
Lets make Tavern RP great again!.
Adding my signature to this list. For people who donât know me, Iâve been playing WoW since Vanilla and at one time, ran the largest guild on WrA. Iâve probably started or participated in more threads about player housing than anyone I know because Iâve felt it was the one thing that WoW has been missing that other MMOs or survival games are making a centralized portion of their gameplay.
(Thereâs an active thread on WrAâs forums about features weâd like as well.)

As a roleplayer I love this. Throwing in my support for this as well. From another Wyrmrest Accordian whoâs been around since vanilla.
Sereneia, GM of the Shanari, signing on in support!
RPers are most oftentimes the folks sustaining the servers through content droughts or the ends of expansions. Make this decision for us, with us!
You have the elves!
I, Rillumas Blackdawn, Oathkeeper of the Crimson Guarde of the Kingdom of Quelâthalas fully support this and any other features that improve the quality of life of my fellows.
