Player Housing in 8.2?

Do you think that there is no release date for 8.2 is because they are actually releasing player housing? THAT would definitely explain why it’s taking them a little bit longer.

I find that highly unlikely. Certainly welcome, but highly unlikely.

No, if they were ever going to do player housing it wouldn’t be in a patch with out any kind of promoting.

Since that is one of the most requested features, don’t you suppose they’d mention it to retain the disgruntled?

They want it to be a surprise.

I still have a farm growing weeds in Halfhill in Pandaria, haha.

I like the concept of player housing. I think it could be a bit better implemented in the future though.

There should be two ‘layers’ of phasing where one area (say your town hall or base headquarters) would be phased similar to you garrison but then the outbuildings would be phased to you and the people who made the same choices as you, similar to your class hall.

Maybe they will implement a Mechagon resistance base like this.

But 8.2 hasn’t been delayed. It’s on its way. Soon (and not just Blizzard Soon ™). Why do you think there have been all these stories/releases about what pets and mounts and gearing and Benthic whosis? Those sorts of stories start to ramp up when a release is nearly here.

As soon as it made it’s way to the ptr it wouldn’t remain a surprise for long.

I’d say there is roughly a 0% chance that is the case.

Still a few 8.2 features not on the PTR as i understand.

It’s not happening sweetie. Hate to burst your bubble. Don’t come crying here when 8.2 comes out. Cause again it’s not happening.

My turn to add to this often conversed topic!

So. Player Housing. I won’t go into a big spheal, and i’ll “stay on topic” and flat out say Sadly, no. No player housing in 8.2.

However

Personal player housing with a instance within a major City or Zone (Not a garrison, for goodness sake) would be amazing. Like walking into a literal instance, its own micro world (like taking a portal to Outlands, Draenor) and row after row of types of housing, which can be clicked to find a specific player in that type of home. Yes, this comes as a direct rip from Everquest 2.

But we are in an age now, I feel, that instead of the “We” part of WoW and gaming, we’d like more “Me”. “My personal achievements” “My design choices of living space” “HOLY COW LOOK AT MY AMAZING FIREPLACE”. You get the idea

So maybe next expansion? Maybe never? Both are true and false at the same time. So keep our hopes up, and we’ll see.

Not a chance. I wouldn’t be against them adding a good player housing system but that’s not going into 8.2. The patch is taking so long because they are trying to avoid the issues they have made time and time again in BFA.

I think the game will be close to dead before they get to that point.

Player housing… Hahahalolololo…

Blizzard’s answer to player housing is: “use the [Suspicious Crate] toy and go find a smelly Boralus alley to squat in, or just camp in the fish stink of the dazor’alor docks.”

They had player housing in WoD, garrisons.

Garrisons were well implemented except for the player isolation aspect. To mitigate this they should have gotten creative with phasing and given the garrison hearthstone a second function of returning you from whence you came. This would be similar to how monks could go to their temple and druids to Moonglade.

Nope. They would have mentioned that long ago. Don’t expect player housing anytime soon if at all ever.

Yeah, unless players are allowed to build their house anywhere in the world that they want like a sandbox, then I’d have to say housing has no place in an MMO.

It’d be cool if housing had world pvp aspects so that you could log out and log back in finding out that the horde or alliance razed your base while you were at work, but WoW was never meant for that kind of gameplay.

I imagine this would be more of an expansion type feature rather than in a patch.
