Player housing, but owned by other people

Has anyone really checked out most of the detail blizz puts into certain areas of the game? In some of the homes in Dorn., the details are litteraly hinting at player housing soon within the next 2 expacs.

My next point is, coders paid to have private servers to let player experince cool things, like most of all quality of life stuff, EVEN player housing. That said coders managed to do what blizz hasnt…scratch that, blizzard actually did houing in their own terms back in WOD.

I want to know apme of your thoughts with the detail around the game that would be good for housing.

Oh boy can’t wait to buy my house in WoW full of manager special appliances and all the outlets are painted over with 8 layers of white paint.

Player housing is really really dumb. Please don’t waste resources doing this stupid thing, Blizzard.

Really? You wouldnt want your own phased zone with all the cool stuff you did over the game? Itll be like the garrison but better.
Instead of setting your hearth to an inn filled with 40 players, causing you to lag like hell.

I’d really like to have player housing but I’m pretty sure Blizzard isn’t capable of doing it right.

I pay rent IRL, I do not want that in game too.

No, because I know Blizzard. It’s either going to end up feeling required like garrisons, or they’re going to half-heart it and make it boring and lacking any sort of depth

If you want good player housing go to FF14. Once you manage to get past the auctioning for a house, anyway

Only thing it would have like that would be a hearthstone to get there.

Also, no game has a better housing system like Freerealms. (Iyk,yk)

Look at what theyre doing for the 20th birthday event. Theyre more than capable.

Just for decor. Blizzard probly fond a way to get that one item for a gold sink. But the decora price would very, depending on the expac.

I liked housing in SWTOR but in every other game I’ve ever seen it in, it’s been awful.

Then it’s going to be the second category. You didn’t read the whole post did you?

Just give players a moon.

Said moon is a sandbox orbiting Azeroth that we can teleport to from anywhere.

Give players tools on this moon to build to their hearts content. Have guild building area, player area, RP area, sandbox silly area that gets deleted after 24 hours

Problem solved. Not attached to the world. No grinds.

My thoughts are this:

  1. The last thing the forums need is another player housing post.

  2. Player housing is already implemented. Go play in your garrison.

  3. The less wow is like the sims the better.

Hmmm… well… I don’t see any player housing. Just “visit old stuff and time walk to get mounts and pets”. Nothing special though.

Why don’t I have a moon/planet? I liberated several Legion worlds, which dirt ball of these Legion and or native species wants to crown me their new sovereign for freeing their world from a cosmic threat? In the very least with all we’ve done for the Horde/Alliance and the rank we’ve reached, we should have a garrison+ sized personal palace dedicated to our sole ownership as planetary conquerors.

As a so called godslayer I am offended by their ingratitude…

Oh housing would be amazing! Hoping it would be like eso’s. I’d happily volunteer to test them out too, bughunt, suggest assets and give some constructive criticism  wipes a bit of drool from her chin with an embarrassed grin

Almost every building across every expansion is filled with furniture, decorations, etc. People have been saying for ages that a huge number of buildings we can access would make good houses.

Thing is, player houses are empty. When they are made you just have walls, ceiling and bare floors and you fill them with stuff. The environmental buildings are preset.

That said, the buildings themselves could be adapted into player houses, using the graphics frameworks at least.

Imagine if our choices were any dungeon/raid from classic to current with all the mobs cleared out and pre-set places to place furniture? At least that way the work of phasing the whole thing into its own self contained area would be done, which is like 1/4th of the work needed.

The hard part would still be getting that technical capability into a 25 year old system not designed for even remotely that level of customization to an area, we’re very slowly getting interactable items like chairs and drinks/food, only took em what… 20 years to do so from classic to DF?

Course the unforseen consequences of this would of course be that when you tried group raid nights your clothes dresser would suddenly be sticking out of some poor Nerubian in Icecrown Citadel cause the phased versions bled together from no testing.

Sorry to say but…no…it’s not doing that. They look nice as Blizz wanted to make the houses nice but they’ve already said that player housing is not coming for a good long while as it would require reformatting the entire game to allow it and that’s a lot of time and money they can’t afford to invest just yet. As far as buildings we can acquire and decorate I’d see Guild Halls being a thing long before personal houses.

I like the idea of the dungeons, but I would also really love something as “simple” as a little log cabin with a garden  I wouldn’t love the pre-set places for furns, like they do in lotro, that drove me crazy to no end because every house looked the same more or less, but simply being given an area do decorate more or less entirely myself, right down to the plants climbing the walls. Eso has a nice concept where you can have ALOT of houses, and then you choose one for your main, that your friends can visit by simply clicking on your character in the friends list.

Imagine having the choice of 20+ houses, each in it’s own special instance, some ruins, some dungeons, some pretty little houses and dark dreary castles, could even make a contest of finding really nice assets in the game, submitting screenshots, there by saving the devs some of the work of deciding what gets turned into furniture/decorations as players often have eyes on the little things that devs forget existed being so immersed in the overall game. I don’t play eso or really anything else anymore, but they did execute their housing to near perfection imho, and it’s really the only thing I’m missing in wow… aside from a vulpera/Void elf druid
