Hey, so I think WoW is moving in an interesting direction in that long requested features are making their way into the game, like cross faction guilds being the latest example.
And I think it is a good time to discuss player housing in the future hopefully in the next expansion, I think its something for everyone to enjoy but especially for the casuals and role players and I think thats a good thing.
This is a player made concept Wowhead posted an article on in January of this year, I thought it was really innovative and cool, and I hope thats something the devs look at when they think on that topic, because that looks like player housing, not what ever garrisons was.
My grandkids say that the Garrison was originally the stand in for player housing, but is a poor implementation at best. I haven’t seen them yet, so I can’t say, but judging by the other response, I think they’re probably right.
Can you imagine PH and a Companion feature? Oof gurl… the framework is already there in the game, Blizz just needs to put it all together and create a complete package.
So one player can make this but years after WoD blizz still can’t even get a prototype… ROFLMBO this indi company is just silly with their paper lies
there are barely enough players left for raiding, m+ and dungeons anymore. player housing will be the biggest waste of developer time and the biggest flop to happen to wow at this point and time. that ship sailed.
no matter how many of these threads come up i will jump aboard to say my piece. my wife, everyone i spoke to about this over the years on my friends list and all my guild members both horde and alliance would have nothing to do with player housing if it ever came to fruition.
but just like everything else that gets added to this game there will be 100 and 1 achievements attached to every detail of it. like collect every color curtain. collect every table and chair. or w/e the heck people are getting on with. and because we are achievement point collectors, mount and pet and toy collectors, player housing will be forced on everyone.
and thats not counting the actual “real” content that will be excluded over the years because of the creation of this player housing mess.
i think every anti player housing person can agree and be ok with this idea if there is not 1 single achievement, 1 single mount, 1 single toy, 1 single pet or 1 single cosmetic tied to it. otherwise it will be forced upon everyone.
Thats actually a really cool idea. The idea of a housing lottery to make the house visible is a bit weird but overall i like the concept. Would definitely add something to do that would survive expansions.
that is the core of the game. it is what makes wow, wow. i stand my words and player housing will not happen as it shouldnt. there are not enough people in this game that would be interested in that sort of thing.
being an anti housing person in a pro housing thread will get me chewed up here but i dont care. blizzard needs to see both sides of this. and here i am with my side.
It already did, at least insofar as WoW’s engine is capable of.
Since it wasn’t enough for the player housing lobby, it will never happen again. Because of them. The people who want player housing really soiled their own nest on this one.
oh i did. but you and 3 other people that actually want player housing only think you do. when the 4 of you are standing in your housing as the game is dying because of all the cut content im sure you will have loads of “fun”.
the novelty of placing a rug and hanging a picture will wear off in about 3 seconds and it will be caulked up as the biggest failure in wow history.
Garrisons were cool, but not intended as a housing solution (or poorly implemented if so)… players are looking for something less systemic. Just tell blizzard its a simple gold sink and they’ll be into it.
