"Player Etiquette Threads" A breakdown

It hasn’t gotten more toxic. It was simply allowed for players to be undermining and dirty towards any other player at any time in earlier years in order to get what they wanted and to take the lead in progression from doing so.

It was only the advent of the heavily PC stance Blizz took over the past several years that put these players under a bad light when it was those same players who were most likely the most diehard fans of the game.

Don’t try and make us feel bad for how we want to play. If that means you and I am taken advantage of because the game allows for it, so be it.

They’ll treat other players however they will treat them. Let feelings be hurt and move on. If someone’s nice, alright, cool. Take it as it comes. Just don’t fall apart if another player dose something sketchy and leaves you in the dirt with nothing to show.

It’ll happen. To all of us.

If you have a abusive personality, have ninjaed before, stolen mats, etc… There is a good chance that you will find yourself getting declined by raiding guilds as a whole. Guilds work together for head buff drops and world bosses. A guild will put pressure on another guild not to take you and when word gets around they will gleefully just deny your application.

The point is that the game elements that requires a positive social interaction is returning, for the past decade or so you could just be and act as you wanted to. No one really cared.

That is a good point, at least half of common courtesy to me is to not spaz on someone if they take your [insert thing here]. It could be a 10 year old just clicking around, even an honest mistake or mere negligence. Let it go, it’s just a node. Not worth getting worked up about. Bigger stuff like ninja-ing, well, I guess that’s the kind of thing that builds a bad reputation.

Ohhh that BFA mindset. Can’t wait.

This guy gets it. People will act how they will. It’s nice when someone’s nice. It’s whatever it is when someone acts rude. No one is saying to be generally mean spirited or anything on a fundamental level.

Just accept that it may or may not be a coin toss as to whether someone is nice to someone else or not.

And BOY lemme tell ya. Am I ever so scummy.

I think maybe he is just giving his opinion on how people should act within the game if they want to remain friendly. There actually are people that have never played vanilla and they probably don’t know that its a bit rude to do some of these things. It isn’t a set of rules he is forcing on anyone (how could he force anyone to do anything) looks like a suggestion thread for people who may or may not know any better. So those of you that are pretending to be offended “Don’t tell me how to play my game!” are just being rude… his post is about kindness in game. If you are not into that kinda thing then don’t be upset when someone tells you you are a butthole for doing these things and then try and report them. These things are annoying, that doesn’t mean they will always try and get you shunned by the community… but some people may do that.

If you are going to do these things anyway well then why respond here with your upset? (he isn’t able to make you stop, and therefor isn’t hurting you enough for you to troll him) If you agree that it is friendlier to not steal a chest when someone obviously is killing a mob to loot it then his post wasn’t for you because you already know, that doesn’t make his post obsolete either because some people may not know.

The majority of people that are trying to say this thread is obsolete or isn’t worth a crap fits into one of those categories for sure.

Once again, you make it sound like this is a hobby for some people, which I’m sure it is but not on the widespread scale you keep suggesting. And if I was ever in such a situation they can say I was a jerk all they want for whatever it was that made them butthurt, my spot in the raid ain’t going anywhere when they see the meters…

People still use threat meters in BfA? Also it’s cute you think I started in BfA.

You can deny it if you want, it doesn’t matter at what point you played WoW, being a good and capable player counts for a lot.
