I’m trying to help a fella named Billomageo on Westfall that says he cannot unlearn leatherworking. He’s tried disabling all addons and doing a /reload to no avail.
Any ideas? I never heard of this issue before.
Disabling isn’t the same as doing a full UI reset. He needs to do a full UI reset in order to determine if it is a corrupted file causing his issue.

Both versions of Classic should enable one to unlearn their professions once they select the profession they wish to unlearn.

I am the Billomageo mentioned in the original post. I have unloaded all the addons, reloaded UI. I have done everything above and I still cant unlearn the leatherworking skill. My skinning is sitting at 382 and I can unlearn that although I dont want to.
On my actual Billomageo character, I can unlearn both my skills, but my daughter cant unlearn the leatherworking skill on hers
So does the red icon just not appear in the bottom once your daughter clicks on the Leatherworking skill?

No red button at all. I just uninstalled all addons and tried again. Red button shows up for the skinning skill

I am beginning to wonder if there is something that may be tied to this skill that may prevent the skill from being unlearned.
I’m thinking that also, like a quest or quest item maybe?
Having same issue. Full UI reset and still nothing

Same issue here tried everything in this post and still nothing. Hopefully blizzard hotfixes this soon.
Same problem happening for me right now. I suggest you go learn Leatherworking on a bank alt or something then try to unlearn it yourselves. I’m able to unlearn other professions on other characters like Tailoring, Enchanting, Herbalism, but not Leatherworking.
I can’t unlearn my leatherworking too. It’s only leatherworking, tried turning off all UI addons and everything.
Update: I just learned leatherworking on a throw away toon, and cannot unlearn it. I unlearned Herbalism, trained leatherworking, selected it and cannot unlearn it. it appears to be JUST leatherworking.
Edit: This post has a solution flagged, it does not solve the issue. Can we get it unflagged as solved or how does that work?

This bug is extremely frustrating, for those that want to min max and take engineering on their chars for Ulduar. Hopefully this can be fixed quickly.
I’m having this issue on enchanting and tailoring, the button exists and lets me click it, even pops up a confirmation window, but after confirming the professions are still there. They are both also at 0/0 skill.
I agree that the solution didn’t solve anything. Even with zero addons it’s not working.
I am having the issue currently with enchanting and tailoring in Classic Cataclysm…the same as Kyleah. 0/0 skill, red button is clickable, and confirmation window does nothing. Reset cache, interface, and wtf folders, and disabled all addons. Nothing yet. Hopefully a solution pops up soon!
