Player Boosts Need to be Improved

I recently got into Classic, so obviously I boosted my character. However, I just recently found out that when I boosted my character it gives me no option to boost professions along with it. It’s really aggravating having to start from 0 on whatever professions I choose. Now I’m out here in Durotar picking level 5 herbs. I don’t know, I think this was a big oversight from Blizzard. I don’t think it’d be a bad idea for an extra $10 to include professions with the boosts.

No it was not a oversight it was intended.

The boost is only there to get you playing with your friends in Outland nothing more. It is NOT there to get you caught up only allow you to play with friends in Outlands right away as such the min was given.

Professions are not needed to play in Outland and if you went them you should level then blizzard dose not need to be adding a proff boost in turn add more players to the market tossing the market of. Eg havjng people boost tailors to use as cloth CD toons reducing the value of cloth quite a bit faster than if they leveled. This also devalues low level mats more as people don’t use to level making legit players have it worse of when they try to sell there materials.

The boost was at the limit of what was acceptable as it brought people into the game by allowing them to play with friends right away they SHOULD NOT be getting anything more as it is not required for that goal of getting them able to play with freinds in Outland right away you should have to earn everything further.

You gotta play the game. My boost is still 58 as I am busy leveling my professions (engineering, mining, cooking and first aid). When it’s time to hit the portal, I wanna be somewhat ready and not play catch up. It’s gonna quite a while til I hit 70 so I’m taking my time and rush things.

the economy is enough of a dumpster fire as is without adding what would be an even more blatant p2w component to it.

I used to, but now that takes even more time than TBC

well, it has the pay 2 win component you seem to be after via tokens.

You’re complaining about leveling herbalism which is the easiest of all professions to level at cap? I did it in a few hours on my boosted druid.

The problem is you want to ruin it for those of us who do have time. You made your choices in life. It’s your own fault you don’t have time to play anymore.

This is such a tired argument.

If you don’t have time to level your character and its professions, do you have time to complete an arduous attunement process?

Do you have time to farm mats for your bis crafting pieces?

People don’t seem to understand that a time investment is inherent in an mmo. This notion that people who have disposable income should be permitted to skip game content at their discretion is a pox on modern gaming. It devalues things that non-boosting/non-token-buying players achieve in the game, from gear, to mounts, to pvp ranks, to achievements.

People need to get it through their -sometimes- VERY thick skulls that the regrettable state of retail is a direct result of this monetization mindset. Play the game, or play something else.

Ok.

It takes like… 2 hours as a level 58 to go from 1 to 300 skinning, and maybe 4 hours to go 1 to 300 herbs or mining. I’ve used a boost, I’m definitely not anti boosting, but I don’t really see the need for this. Boosting to 58 boosts MOST of the way to 300 crafting too, in terms of the required effort. It certainly takes more time to get from 58-60 outside of BC quests than it does to go 1-300 in a gathering profession.

No need to boost professions. I support the boost but you don’t need professions boosted.
