Played WoW for 25 Years… But It Doesn’t Feel Fun Anymore

I guess we shall see. I hope everything works out for everyone.

Game hasn’t been out for 25 years though.

I feel like this thread was simply to get attention. World of Warcraft has really only been a thing since about November 2004. Which means it hasn’t even been around 21 years. Your thread title suggests you’ve been playing the game four years longer than it has existed. also, the length of time you’ve played doesn’t really impress anyone except you and it doesn’t make your opinion of the game any more substantial. So maybe instead of trying to create gravitas you might want to just succinctly comment on what your issues are.

Lol what??

I mean you’re correct. The problem with the game really started with the introduction of M+ and Blizzard trying to turn wow into both an E-sport and formulaic clone that they could recycle content with minimum effort.

They’ve effectively spent 10+ years removing the RPG from MMORPG.

so you didn’t actually want responses to your post then.

got it, moving on.

You played WoW for 5 years longer than the game has even been out?

That’s impressive.

WoW has only been around for 20 years, moving into its 21st now.

If you want to be taken seriously, here’s a hint: don’t lie about how long you’ve been playing the game.

I’m still just kinda impressed that OP was able to squeeze 25 years of gameplay out of a not quite 21 year old game. What makes it an even more impressive feat are all the breaks taken and expansions skipped.

“Doctor, I get a sharp pain in my thigh every time I stab it with a fork.”
“Well, stop doing that.”
“Wow, bro… so toxic.”

idk man…feels like the dailes has slowed down a lot, I got rank 25 with all renown (except the 2 newest ones) just passively playing the game…and the weekly are not so bad especially since they are weekly meta quest.

dude I remember During MoP having to do like 50 dailies or something ridiculous, now THAT burnt me out. I think the game is actually really fun right now. It’s the most fun I’ve had since BFA. Hated SL, barely played DF and currently having a blast in TWW.

but to each their own…take a break but 11.2 is not far off you might enjoy that…and with True player housing coming in Midnight expansion you’ll definitely get that “Social” aspect feeling with the neighborhoods

I disagree I think the game is the most fun its been in a long time. Liberation of Undermine is a blast and the Undermine zone is really cool and thematic.

I’m also enjoying the classes I play (Prot Pally and Blood DK).

Have you actually tried playing the game OP? Or did you think getting your companion to level 30 back in December was enough?

You were in a wrong game then. You are still in the wrong game now. And you still cant realize that you are indeed in a wrong game.

Becoz you don’t have time. MMOs like this game requires effort and time. If this is not fun for you as you don’t have much time, it just means the game is not for you.

Hunters still tame Pets like as it was before. They have misdirection, traps and feign death. That’s their identity… they are not Mage, Warlock or Rogue.

Max level is no longer a great achievement. Everyone can achieve that. Even my 10 year old nephew can do that. Do you want the whole server to say Congrats to you when you Ding? You are corny and boring.

Becoz you cant use your old currency to buy the new stuffs. You have to PLAY the new patch to get the new stuffs. If you don’t have time to do it, it wont work for you. The game is not designed for Tourist like you who plays a few then disappears. It’s for active players who has subscription who plays the game for many months.

It is simple, rewarding and Fun. You just spent most of the time OFFLINE.

Do some mythics, do some dailies, do some delves, run for some achievments, do some raid if you want, change your transmog, run some old content for some piece of gear you want…What is so hard about having fun in the game? I’ve been doing this for years and having a blast lol

Blizzard tried bringing back “identity” but players hated it. They would complain about raid/M+ balance in the case of class identity.

They tried making choices matter … people hate the covenant of SL.

So they stopped doing it. People clearly didn’t want the original vision of WoW anymore.

Well, reaching cap is kind of “trivialised” these days. It’s expected that you reach cap. It’s more of a stepping stone than a milestone in today’s WoW.

I find the seasonal gear grinds quite tiresome and suck some of the fun out of the game for me. Looks like most of my alts will be ending the season in the mid 660s range. It’s fine, it’s how I chose to play, but definitely not on the same pace with a lot of players.

Just play the game instead of posting recap complaints in a single post. :slightly_smiling_face:

I personally don’t see anything that you’re saying. M+ full time job what??? Spoken like someone completely online and only in Warcraft. That’s not you is it???

I mean, it’s right there in the title what this thread is yet people are still giving the OP serious answers.

It would have been a better excuse, but judging by your title thread, the reason is that it’s getting too old, you can’t tolerate anything anymore, dude.

go play classic
:cherries:

Pss… fool, he’s talking about WoW in general. Besides, if I were you, I wouldn’t send people to play WoW Classic if they’re based on retail.

There are things that seem to be going the wrong way due to a few things between lore and gameplay, but the way he said it, that’s not the main reason I’m talking about.

You’re not alone, I miss when the developers cared about their players and didn’t just cater to a small amount of the player base. Now it’s all about money, faster expansions but buggier content, they used to have real people for tickets now it’s a Ai that doesn’t give a hoot. We used to get content that rocked but…now it’s just…boring. When one race got cosmetics everyone got something but now it’s mostly elves and humans getting stuff while we all rot, some of us getting treated poorly by the devs and made the butt of their jokes. The story’s grown stale, incredibly alliance heavy to the point Horde doesn’t matter anymore. They did a huge goblin patch before worgen got anything worthwhile despite the two races being added same expansion. Goblins got a huge city themed after them…worgen “Reclaimed their home” yet can’t do anything with it much like they did to gnomes. Feels bad…truly does, I’ll probably get laughed at or called stupid because hey that’s just how things are now…community gotten real toxic over the years.
