Played Horde. Writing was garbage

Literally nothing in the Horde makes sense.

Lilian Voss is helping Nathaniel turn Kul Tirans against their will into undead? She freaking hates the undead. We’re given a silly dialogue about how “she wants to help them with their transition”. YOU’RE CAUSING THEIR TRANSITION.

Thalyssra is infiltrating Stormwind and unleashing evil Zandalari prophets because … why? The Alliance spent an entire expansion helping the Nightborne. I realize you guys needed more angsty elves for the Horde to play, but this makes zero sense. Our allies one expac are all-out waging war on us the next with literally no reason.

Trolls and Tauren seem to pretend to be good guys, but then they’re all buddy-buddy with undead who just want to blight the land and do mustache-twirlingly evil stuff.

How do you Horde players put up with this writing? I cringe

The writing in general is just garbage. I feel sorry for Night Elves the most who are left as :clown_face:s after all Horde has done to them.

The writing is just very bad not good for the most part, at least the over all story arc. Some of the individual quest lines, zones are fun though.

But ya, the entire Nightborne entry into the Horde quest cringe inducing. I understand why they gave them to the Horde of course but wow… it was just horrible bad.

I mean I agree with you in general but to be fair the Nightborne were garbage backstabbing people from the beginning. Thalyssra even rejoices as you kill her ex coworkers in the raid.

That being said, yeah you are right. Nothing in BFA makes sense.

This may come as a surprise, so did the horde.

It’s simple you just shout “Lok’tar Ogar”
And then go with the flow
Also if someone ask you a question just say “But muh honor”
If it doesn’t work just say you’re part of a disfunctional family and it ain’t your god damn fault that your weird undead aunt and uncle commited genocide.

Why in the world anyone expects quality story from this game is beyond me.

We only know of 2 for sure she might have been/was involved in: the tidesage, which she warned about what would happen, and the captain of the guard of the one town.

We were there for Talanji, Zul was just an unfortunate, for most of us, tag along

This is just bad writing, even taken the fact that Baine went against Sylvanas and the fact that Vol’jin revealed it might not have been the loa who had him name Sylvanas warchief.

Horde lore and story has been garbage since mop ended.

Right now i only see the horde as that character in a series that dont wanna be forgotten and do stupids things to be relevant .

Yes, so I’d expect the Nightborne to be gung-ho about killing … neither of them.

I feel like that should be pretty clear, but idk.

Welcome to BFA!

Hordes story is a mess because all of their npcs keep getting killed so they have to work with what they got left.

I pay attention to the story as a whole. I don’t align myself with a faction. I just play the character I like.

You know it’s the same writing for the Alliance too, right?

Horde’s writing this time around was… pretty special. Alliance too honestly. BFA was just bad all around.

How did I deal with it? I complained about how badly I got shafted on the long awaited Zandalar xpac. Then I went on to play things like Hollow Knight, Dark Souls 3, Pokemon, KotoR, and Fire Emblem at scattered intervals just to get away from it for a bit.

Now I’m back for some more suffering!

The alliance writing is as bad.

They just don’t seem to care about coherent story.

You forgot about Rexar saying that the only reason he joined the war was because Jainas crimes were too great and must be brought to justice.

Like what…?

WoW is just like a TV show that was still successful while following the source material in the books it’s based on but because it was still churning out good profits they decided to just keep making up new seasons. As things have declined further and further with people at the top fleeing the sinking ship, people like Ion keep rising into positions they’re unqualified (or simply lack the heart) to be in, and here we are.

Alice gave me a book for Christmas. Bob gave me another book for Christmas. Both are good books. They are my friends.

helps Alice murder Bob

As for Voss, it feels believable with Zelling since he volunteered. If that was a one-off thing it would’ve been a great story. But around the same time Amalia is very clearly resurrected against her will into a borderline vegetable state, and they were going to do the same with Derek. Voss as written even one expansion ago would’ve left over that.
