Troll in this context wouldn’t work. They are made of many different subtypes(tribes). Zandalari being one of them and possible the oldest.
Yeah. It’d be Trolls, then their mutant Night Elf cousins, Tauren and Vulpera, then at some point Blood Elves breaking off from the Night Elves, then because of the Curse of Flesh and Mogu it’d be Dwarves, Gnomes, Pandaren, then Humans, followed by Orcs from the portal, Forsaken from Lich King needing help, then fast forward, Draenei crash landing, Worgen from several sources, and all Allied Races more recently.

I think just saying Trolls works because you are looking at origin races. From there you would get subtypes as Trolls break off and form their own tribes.

No Zandalari trolls are the original. ALL trolls and Elves come from Zandalari origins.

They are the earliest known tribe. That doesn’t mean they are the oldest form of trolls.
That doesn’t make you wrong the lore just leaves it open.

That is very incorrect. They were not a tribe. They were an empire. The controlled over half of the known planet when the Alqir came around.

Don’t forget about the Mantid I think they are right there with the Trolls or older, not sure were the Tortollans fall with that.
Mantid are the Al’qir decedents. They came after the trolls.

You keep telling your self that. But the trolls were the main life form on this planet until the rise of the Al’qir and the black empire.
The only race older is Murlocs. Their history and recording of their appearance is even older than the trolls. And they only appeared in the oceans.

According to the Dracthyr on the SW docks, the Dracthyr apparently slept for 20,000 years.
That probably makes each Dracthyr you see the oldest in the room.
