Playable Ogre

The biggest hurdle to adding them as a playable race is what to do for female Ogre. Rescaling isn’t an issue; they could be a bit bigger than Taurens and it’d be fine. I propose that you can go wild with it since there isn’t a precedent in game. Just make up some wacky lore for why we haven’t seen them. Now, you could just slap some lipstick and a bow on a male Ogre, that would be hilarious. However, I’ve a strong feeling that’s been proposed behind closed doors at Blizzard before. The argument against it? Unfortunately, that form of female Ogre wouldn’t have a large appeal across virtually any demographic.

A two headed Ogre as the other option would also be neat, but that’d be a whole mess in terms of making armor compatible. It also has the same demographic issue. The ones choosing it are an extension of the fellas that want to play as a rotund Ogre.

My suggestion is to make Ogre’s especially dimorphic. In other words, take a page out of Japanimation. Essentially, a tall and conventionally attractive curvaceous woman with a horn that shares only a skin tone and perhaps body paint with her male counterpart. I envision a character like Tio from Monster Musume. Such an option would be so compelling that it may even rival the number who’d want to play as a male Ogre.

Dont need male/female. Two body types. A = one head, B = two heads.

As I said, armor compatibility. Every chest piece, now and forever, would have to be hand altered with two neck holes. Additionally, some helms and pauldrons have protrusions that would need to be adjusted for the reduced real estate above the shoulders. Clipping happens with other races, particularly on retail, but these ones would be very unsightly as they occur on the most visible part of the model. This is why two headed Ogres are often depicted in game with custom armor or no armor.

Perhaps Blizzard could give them an Artifact armor that levels up with them. Although that goes against the principles of Classic. Or they could selectively not show certain armor pieces. I personally thought that was okay for Troll as it was the boot slot. For two headed Ogre it includes the chest slot and potentially helms or shoulders.

Skyborne illustrates that Blizzard is willing to askew some lore elements to add an as of yet not seen race. They could do something funny like female Ogres being cursed with invisibility. Then have the player partake in making them visible. It can be a portion of the questline to add Ogre to the roster of playable Horde races.

Which head is the dominant head?

You are mistaken. Blizzard is only willing to keep giving us elves. A new elf is like a new iPhone. People line up around the block and buy it with a credit card.

Hopefully they give us a green elf followed by a red elf. Then a trio of them would be RGB elves.
