Playable murlocs

I was just wondering if someday that they finally bring in playable murlocs. What classes would they be? I know I would want them to be shamans.

Not sure I’d actually want them in WoW, but a separate warcraft game where you play as a murloc would be pretty cool lol

Like maybe world of Warcraft: murloc dimension

They won’t. It’s been almost 20 years. Murlocs aren’t a race known for their intelligence, government, leaders, or ease of communication and are largely used as quest fodder, companion pets, or general comedy, up to and including the part of DF where a murloc version of Azeroth was shown. Blizzard also doesn’t make the majority of fan-requested races playable and would rather pull new ones out of thin air (see: void elves and Highmountain tauren instead of naga or ogres).

The implications of being a murloc and sending other, smaller murlocs to fight small animals to the death are unfortunate enough.

I hope so, I wanna be a murloc warlock.

Give warlocks a tank spec on top of that I’ll be the happiest camper.

Honestly, it’d be pretty cool for them to do single player warcraft games here & there.
Like first-person adventure games I mean, such as Spyro / Ratchet & Clank / Jack & Daxter – but with warcraft characters.

Heck that’d be a really cool concept, where instead of a book to explain some new lore stuff: They do it through another game instead. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Well there would be lore and NPC’s to support them as DH variants.

For druids tank form could be a landshark

Is this a warlock maybe?

Paladins for sure:

Hunter:

The humble warrior:

Evoker:

Moo!

Good gods, not ever npc race needs to be playable.

Still better than Dwarves 3.0.

That mage/warlock has strong Frog from Chronotrigger vibes. But player murlocks would ruin the chief appeal of murlocks.

Namely being unintelligible, near-feral beasties.

They’re too ugly and I will never play them

I don’t think we will ever have that option, but Shamans seem like a good class for them. Or maybe warriors?

i have long thought that a third neutral expansion would be great: azeroth strikes back

murlocs
naga
ogres
furbolgs

all playable races

I hoped they might be teasing something along those lines in the Gnoll Questline at the end of the Dragonflight. Maybe another Cataclysm-like event galvanizes smaller tribes to lend their aid to the Horde and Alliance as mercenaries. Murlocs, Gnolls, Hozen, Ogres, Tuskarr , and (Furbolgs?) could all be part of a true neutral Pirate faction and that could solve the major problem of having some central capital city for each of the requested races. There could be a longer questline to choose which faction you want to be friendly with by actually grinding out major faction rep with the option to switch. It would encourage more world PvP and could do so in a way like the Gladiator Sanctum quests from WoD. Shoot, if Blizz REALLY wanted to do some fan service and make cash off of it, they could implement a neutral faction like the one above and offer up a bunch of allied races available for purchase in the store. They’d make a killing on Race and Faction change services, not to mention sales from adding a bunch of highly requested races.

i was gonna poke fun at you for doin a necro, but i approve of this.

Gotta keep the dream alive XD

Best they can do is playable Jinyu if they were to do a fish race.
