As I was fighting Hozen with my Pandaren, to claim the Shaohao Sage Serpent, I was struck by the random thought “Could Hozen ever become playable?”
I never really thought of the Hozen being playable before with my desires more on Ogres, Forest Trolls, and Taunka. Though if it happens, I’m kind of tempted to make a Hozen Monk. The idea of just killing demons with a Hozen is funny to me.
Though in all seriousness, if Hozen ever become playable, would you play one?

I hope they’re paired with the Jinyu…
Think my Hozen would be a monk too just because that feels right for some reason…

I had really hoped Jinyu would become a playable race back when MoP was current. Same with Sethrak from BfA. Or Ethereals during TBC.
Still holding out hope that one day they’ll just go ham on races and add a bunch of them that people have been asking for for years.
Hozen isn’t my jam, but it’s always been a request race, and would definitely work.
Just look at Dracthyr, races no longer have to confirm to a certain template to enable transmog to work.
I’d make a Hozen Hunter that uses a gun and wears sunglasses, named Ook Dookem.
“Am heer tu eet slickies and shuut gun, am al out of slickies!”
Either way no.
Unless they do some odd tweak to MoP Classic I highly doubt this many years after that they would suddenly add .

Nah, it’d take a lot of effort to make a Hozen work in setting, mostly cause they don’t reach past 15 most of them. We would be hosting a loooot of funerals. For example, had MoP introduced them instead of Pandaren, assuming your Hozen is above average, we’d be burying them right about…now actually.
Course matter of interpretation, it’s sort of assumed the short lifespan like in Goblins is due to stupidity rather than true biologics, in other words… they usually weed themselves out of the gene pool before the age of 20.
I’ve actually championed Hozen as a playable race for ages specifically becasue I felt like you could do a lot of fun stuff with them and racials.
Nope. If they were, they would have been in MoP. Monkey’s can’t wear all the armor, and Blizz knows it.
Blizz: “We have unlocked Playable hozen, but like Dracthyr, their appearance is limited!”
The Fans: “GGs Blizz another fail!”
I think half the reason they are reluctant to give us new stuff is because of the Complain Brigade on this very forum.
Possible if they can make them stand straight and make a female variant.
